2 Points From 8 Games / 42 Points from 25 Games

Just thought i'd do some calculations in comparison with how we were doing before Harry took over & after -this is what i got =

2 points (max 24) from 8 games = 8 % RAMOS

42 points (max 75) from 25 = 59 % REDKNAPP

at this rate i believe Harry has clawed more points per game ratio than any other previous manager in our recent history. Please correct me if i am wrong, but for a bad season , Harry's done alright.

COYS !!! U know it !

I want Bus Conductor to come and tell me that we kept the ball better under Ramos than we are under Harry.

That's always good fun.

harry's ppg atm is 1.625, if we replaced ramos's games with that we would have 52 pts from our 32 games now - that's the same number of points villa have now in 5th place (albeit with a game in hand, and everton could overtake them if they beat villa tomorrow for 54 pts). over a course of a season that's 61.75 pts, not bad. i won't judge harry until next season though, since i'm interested in what he'll do this summer.

The only thing that Harry will do this summer is strengthen the team to make sure we never ever have the kind of starts in the league that we have had for the past two seasons!

hope you're right. i'll honestly start to think it's some kind of curse if we have an awesome preseason and then start poorly again

Where did you get that 2 points from 8 games thing?
Surely if that were true someone would have mentioned it before.

I don't know..I think the 2 points from 8 games is a rumour created by the Daily Sport.

You'd think Harry would have made light of this repeatedly if it were true!

Hopefully it's minor tweaks rather than the wholesale changes we've witnessed over the past couple of summers.

this little run we're on now is the best I can recall, and we were jobbed last week. The thing is, we are better than the teams we're playing right now, its not luck. Harry deserves all the credit.

yep - big big congrats to Harry

his job wa to keep us up - he's done that now

as a big big bonus he took us to a cup final where we matched the european and world club champions minute for minute for over two hours

if on top of all that he leads us back to europe what a fantastic acheivement that will be

On paper our squad is up there with the likes of Villa and Everton, Harry has converted to our 'paper form' to real matches. I really can't put my finger on why Ramos wasn't able to do this consistently. Anway, well done Harry and looking forward to a full season with some more of his own signings.

I hope you're right and I'm confident that you are. Harry is experienced in the transfer market and aside from Chimbonda, who I think is woeful, his signings have been excellent so far.

I think if we can finally get a win on the opening day it could be a catalyst for us. We weren't great in the 06/07 season and struggled until the final run in which we claimed 5th on the last day as Everton could only draw with Chelsea. If we'd had a decent start we could've really pushed that year.

Fact is we've been playing catch up for the past 3 seasons, a win on the opening day could put us in the mix.

The main thing I disliked from Ramos was that when things were going wrong on the pitch he just stood there.

Earlier in the season I watched as Hull scored at the Lane and Ramos just stood there and did nothing. Phil Brown was gesturing, screaming, organising his side from the touchline and despite our dominance they held on. The same thing happened at Stoke. Pulis was all over the place, Ramos just had a dumb look on his face like he just had no clue what to do. He looked extremely out of his depth, which is surprising given his pedigree and success with Real. But I suppose when things are going your way its easy to look like a good manager.
