Cant help but think that some people were watching a different game to me. We should have been 4 up by half time against swansea, and if paulinho had taken any of his three gilt edged chances then this thread wouldnt exist.
Some people will never be satisfied. 6/6 but we are not creative enough? Blimey. We must have been the dogs bollocks last year with 2/9 then.
I think some people just write anything for the sake of writing. Our movement and passing have been out of this world so far.

There is no harm in pointing out that we still lack that creative spark. Which we do, in two games our centre forward has not been presented with one decent opportunity - it doesnt matter how nice our movement and passing is.

No one should be unhappy with our start to the season, but we shouldnt get complacent and assume that we are the finished article. We do have this issue to address, once we do we will be ready to roll.

I get what people mean when they say we lack creativity at the moment, I was at the game on Sunday and it was frustrating to see the lack of opportunities created for Soldado, but please remember that 4 of the players who started that game are new signings, we need time to gel as a team, better understanding and teamwork will develop when the guys figure out how each other play, that's what training is for, to practice working as a team.

No need to panic yet guys and gals, we got 6 points, 2 clean sheets and confidence is high, perfect for the NLD next sunday. COYS.

Granted, but Soldado is not the only attaccking player we have. We had enough chances against swansea for the game to finish 4 or 5 nil.

Same could be said for 80% of our games last season. It is our frustrating lack of ability to put games to bed despite dominating them which led to our reliance on last minute heroics from Bale.

But, i do genuinely believe that is top of our priority list in the last week to sort this out with some flair signings.

this is why i said benteke would've been a better signing than soldado, he doesn't need creative players behind him. if we fix that issue this week then it's cool, but if not then soldado is going to have a long and frustrating season.

For my first post I will say I am old enough to remember us leaking goals for fun. So far we have looked solid at the back; have an outstanding goalkeeper (the best at the lane since Pat Jennings?) and are putting the finishing touches to the attacking players. All the great teams are built from the back forward and I for one have not been so excited about a season since the signings of Osvaldo & Villa :)

Our centre forward hasnt, but there has been a swathe of opportunities for our midfielders. It is very difficult to create an opportunity for a lone striker as he is almost always marked by 2 men.

Regarding the supply for Soldado and that "creative spark", i think we missed a trick with our wingers not swapping briefly, changing it up and letting them deliver into the box, as quite clearly both Townsend and Chadli have better final balls than Rose/Walker, becoming fixated with inverted wingers may see us become too predictable.. not to knock Chadli's creativity as he was pretty lively, hard working and certainly more comfortable on the ball than both Sig and Dempsey..

You don't have to score from 'creative incisive throughballs' if thats how you think about creativity. Our squad isn't setup for that.

Instead its set up on isolating wingers and driving crosses in, which is why we bought Paulinho and Solado; both are known for attacking the ball and in Solado's case the volley. Look at the number of crosses Kyle/Rose delivered..the quality is lacking but you can see the pattern of play.

If you look at the stats, the defence splitting throughball is quite rare. Even rarer on teams who drop deep with a low block.

We will be more creative on Sunday against some team who will come out to play.
