neither of those two will make it big IMO
Townsend I think will be a solid EPL player for a lower tier club. Like O'Hara was for Wolves. But not good enough for spurs.
Falque couldn't get a game in the championship last season and should be released.

Falque was just a really odd signing altogether. No pedigree, no potential. Not sure what he was?

What is big and tbh both will at least be top half players in the top leagues tbh, people said the same about bale before he got back in to the team

I thought that but he has alot of potential imo, you can see he is a barca youth product he needs game time to develop tbh, with a bit of luck in the way of game time and he could be a late bloomer like Carzola

I think if we finish in the CL places we should go for Falcao. :D

But seriously why not (yes I know Daniel Levy), but he was part of AVB's team at Porto, and knows how to play in the style we are trying to implement. I'm also certain that he rates AVB highly as a manager and if Falcao came here we would immediately be a title challenging team as long as Bale stayed.

Falcao + Moutinho would make us one of the best teams on the planet.

(Thank god the 'optimistic' button is gone for my sake ;)).

Osvaldo at Roma is looking for a way out after taking a penalty instead of Totti, missing, then getting death threats and the ultras turning up at training to intimidate him (how fooking prick is Italian football culture, it's like a hollywood version of England in the 80's). I rate him, i think he could score dem goals for us, 20+? Probably. £15-20m. Roma arn't playing him. What do people think of him?
I know this may be incredible to believe but he may be more of a problem than Balotelli. Quality player though and would fit us well.

I don't see it happening.

Dzeko is my dream striker, for the record.

From Athletico to Real? Idk I can't really see that happening.

If it does though I would take Benzema off their hands seeing as we have a "special relationship."
Higauin is leaving and it doesnt matter what atletico think as they dont own him tbh

With 2-3 right players and specially a top notch striker, yes, I believe we can challenge next season!
We have to be ambitious and we must keep this group of players.
If we had someone like Suarez or Van Persie or even Dzeko, I think we would be further up.
Credit to AVB. Let's keep building...

For this season, let's try and win the Europa and get 3rd!

If the question is will we be able to win the league with a 20 goal striker then i'll say no. We still drop too many points against teams who look to sit back against us. This stretch of fixtures is good for our playing style since all the teams we are playing are looking to attack as well and the games are high paced and open and in those situations I fancy us every time. Against teams that sit we still move the ball a little too slow and lack a player with the imagination and skill to unlock them. Not sure a striker will really make a huge difference in those situations. Now give me a creative genius and a 20 goal striker and another year of growth then I think we'd be there or there abouts.

As great as a world class striker would be, I don't think we necessarily need a Falcao to push United for the title next season. If we keep the squad as is, and add three to four players, I'm fairly confident we can make a real push for the top spot.

Personally, I think we need to look to emulate our summer of 2012 transfer strategy. Spend efficiently on players who are proven internationals and are cultured at all aspects of the game. For me, I've earmarked Loic Remy, Gaston Ramirez, and Christian Benteke as the three ideal signings for us. All three have proven they are capable goal-scorers and fluid attacking players in international and EPL play. Remy and Ramirez can both cover the wings, but can play other positions too. Benteke isn't perfect, but neither was Dembele when we brought him in from Fulham. He can grow into this team and replace Adebayor up front. Remy, Benteke, and Defoe would be a capable three-headed attack force, though if Ade was remotely in form, I'd much rather sell Jermain and keep the big man, instead.

I would think if we can get that striker and get the wing cover then we will be all set for a titile push. But I've thought that for the last few years. A lot will depend on how we cope with possibly having Champions league football again and also how much the other clubs spend. If United go out and buy Ronaldo this summer then I can't see anyone challenging them.

As for the wings we got Falque and Townsend coming back who have been their teams best player for the last month

Falque is playing Spanish Second Division and Townsend wasn't even picked for QPR's last game. Neither are of Champions League quality, neither would help to take us forward.

Townsend needs a striker who can head the ball as he doesn't pick people out but hurriedly cross the ball. If Defoe was up front it would be pointless playing him.

I really wouldn't be toooo quick to assume we will splash any cash this summer even if we finish 3rd. Levy has always been about the figures, in his eyes if we finish in a CL spot why should we invest in a new striker? our target was CL and we (hypertheticaly) got CL, why invest.... He only got Ady last year on a permanent, and even if we wanted rid I imagen it will be a nightmare trying to shift him. Levy will want a profit from the sale, the Russians would be the only group of teams he may end up in if we are lucky. There is a lot of dead wood at spurs, I really doubt we will make any moves until if/when It's shifted. Too many windows in recent years we have seen our hopes to push on let down by lack of movement, I don't see why anything will have changed this summer.

I think if we got a striker like Lewandowski who is a great point man, fast, tall, great touch and unselfish if needs be and a aggressive attacking mid like Jamie Rodriguez who can play across the front three and can act as a inside forward then we could really look at pushing into the top two. Not only that, it would act as a statement as much to the other teams as our own players the Tottenham are truly in ascendancy so woe-betide anyone who wishes to jump ship. But I am talking about a 40/50 mil outlay I would say its not worth even dreaming about. I would hazard a guess our limit for a forward this summer would be in the 14/15 mark and I doubt we would sign anyone else.

We don't need a world class (subjective) striker, we just need someone that will complement the other ten players.

Someone with the right attributes, someone that is a good finisher (composure), someone that makes basic (no joke) movements off the ball, someone that won't take years to recognise the kind of crosses that the wide players tend to use. Someone that isn't afraid to shoot, someone that recognises that by not standing still in the box will result in better chances for him to score (tap in). Someone that plays with his head up and is aware of those around him, someone that doesn't bitch and moan when he isn't passed the ball when two minutes earlier three of his teammates sprinted 80 yards for nothing all because of his selfish attitude.
