Thought it might be interesting, based on the furious reaction to the transfer window, if we made a few predictions now on our squad.

Assuming this is Poch's preferred first XI (which it basically was last season):

Lloris

Trippier Sanchez Vertonghen Davies

Dier Dembele

Eriksen Alli Son

Kane

Predict which 5 players you think will step up their level this year and either play their way into this team (either on a permanent or more regular basis), or put in even better performances compared to last season. Please also briefly state why.

You have to include one outside shout.

We'll see how we all fare at the end of the season! :)

Mine as follows:

Lucas Moura: Takes advantage of Sonny's trip to the Asian games, and making it difficult for Poch when he returns. Will be one of the first names on the teamsheet come the end of the season.

Davinson Sanchez: Can see him becoming even better this year, and people will stop talking about him being chosen because of Toby's situation

Harry Winks: He'll get fit and seriously challenge for Dembele's spot

Christian Eriksen: Think he's going to explode this year with loads more goals. Potential EPL POTY.

(Outside Shout)
Troy Parrott
: He looks to me as though he has the lot and could get some minutes in the league cup. If he scores a few goals, who knows what Poch will do...

If Winks, Rose & Moura show improvement for us we'll be significantly better than last season, key areas for us.

Plenty of room for improvement.

Kane will score in August.
Jan will score a few during the season.
Hugo won’t have any brain farts.
Aurier will flawlessly accomplish a throw in.
Sissoko will find a teammate with a pass.

I think the whole team will be fine, tbh. I'm looking forward to seeing if Skipp gets some minutes, along with some other yoof players that may or may not be the next big things.

Who knows.

Ready for the season, that's certain.

It's gonna have to be Harry Winks imo or we're kinda screwed. I don't think Dembele has the legs for another season playing every game.

Think I'd prefer next few weeks we just loaned out Llorente, Janssen, Sissoko, NKoudou. Completely force Poch to have to give game time to some of the youth players at least in the league cup games and make the odd bench.

In terms of stepping up I think like most Lucas will. I think Aurier might have a better second season. Main one for me is I'm keeping everything crossed Winks could get fit, think a lot have forgotten how damn good a footballer he is.

Trippier to continue the upward curve. He was a revelation for England playing in the WC
Winks displayed some real talent and a cool head in his all too brief season. He will make progress
Eriksen gets better every year and this season can become dominant in the EPL
Lucas will now begin to show his real class
Dele had a relatively quiet season but this year will move up another level

Lucas is the obvious one but he's already a big name player and hasn't really had a shot here. Beyond that its the youth so Winks needs to get fit and Onomah needs a shot at CM.

Trip needs a 3 behind him and hopefully with Toby staying he'll get it. Sanchez has the pace he doesn't

Hopefully we'll see KWP in full action.

Skipp... Parrott...

Hey, maybe Poch might even have to give Edwards a run, and he'll suddenly click into action :D

Big season ahead for both Lucas and Winks

If Winks can stay fit then i think he can solve our CM problem.

As for Lucas, he showed in the few chances he had since we brought him that he has real talent, hopefully he shows it and becomes a more regular starter

Here's hoping, he certainly has the talent (Edwards). The sad thing is that if Pochettino can't get you believing and working hard, then who can? Maybe a year older and a year wiser he's ready to bring it, I really hope so. Kane & Dele (who's only 3 years older and has been to a Euro and World championship) can have a word. Dele was in the England squad at Edwards age that says something imo

Looking forward to see a bit of Oliver Skipp this season. Not yet 18. Amazing prospect

Harry Winks stays fit and pain free he becomes our engine room a regular for us and England

KWP plays many more games in a back 4 and can becomes are no1 right back

Hoping Dele Alli can influence games for longer this season and steps up to the World Class level that he can achieve

The South Stand Kop stands up and becomes our 12th man. (We can wish!)

The improvement of Lucas, Winks, Sanchez & Aurier are very important to our season. The health of Rose & Lamela is also massively important.

The most disappointing thing for me with our squad is the fact we have two non HG sub keepers so as a result can’t register Nkoudou or Janssen to play.

I'd like to see a bit more of both but they will probably both have to leave before the end of the month.

Think they both might be able to play in domestic cup games though.

Looking forward to seeing Winks, KWP and Onomah and hopefully a bit of Skipp and Amos.

Imagine how good it will actually feel to have a successful season using our own kids.

Not having to watch NKoudou or Janssen would be an improvement
