Another confederation tournament kicks off today. It's being held in Egypt after being moved from Cameroon last fall.

Egypt 1- Zim 0 in the opening game right now

Not that most in Zim can watch it since we're only being given a few hours electricity a day :poop:

Staggering interest! ?

So the general chatter is we beat Salah but unfortunately Egypt beat us ?. Which is to say he played like shit & was neutralized

It appears @Romulus is a closet vuvuzela fan. Each to their own I suppose. It sounds like a nest of wasps to me and wrecked the 2010 world cup imo.

Let’s hope for an egypt versus whoever Mane plays for final. Those two missing pre season will be a great result.

No Sadio Mane for Senegal tonight. Anyone know if he's skipping AFCON to rest for the new season or if he got himself injured?

Excuse my ignorance but I didn't realise until yesterday that the Cup of Nations had been moved to the summer rather than being a mid-season thing. Is that going to be the plan long-term then or is this just a one-off/trial run to see how it pans out?

As far as I know it's meant to be a permanent thing. The next two in 2021 and 2023 are also summer tournaments.

Atal was so good against Kenya I'd love to sign him, he is the exact mold of RB I want us to have, Big Vic played a full 90 too.

Who'd you reckon is the main contender for the trophy this year? Ivory coast looks like they have a good team. Captain Aurier

Without having watched the game, I can imagine it's hard to judge Wanyama when he plays for his country as he is so far and away their best player. Even if he does everything right there's no guarantee the team will do well.

But very glad that he played 90 mins without trouble.

I can't believe I missed such a thrilling day of football yesterday.
