He was suspended for the first match, suspensions for yellow cards were carried over from qualifying to the tournament.

Excuse my ignorance but I didn't realise until yesterday that the Cup of Nations had been moved to the summer rather than being a mid-season thing. Is that going to be the plan long-term then or is this just a one-off/trial run to see how it pans out?

As far as I know it's meant to be a permanent thing. The next two in 2021 and 2023 are also summer tournaments.

Nothing too eye opening, but happy he lasted the full 90.

Without having watched the game, I can imagine it's hard to judge Wanyama when he plays for his country as he is so far and away their best player. Even if he does everything right there's no guarantee the team will do well.

But very glad that he played 90 mins without trouble.
