Ogilvie is weird. The guy didn’t even go on tour, maybe poch is really worried about left back situation.

To be fair, Saturday's bench really showed to how much we really needed to buy another attacking midfielder in the transfer window, 5 players for 3 positions is not enough !!!

ogilvie's on loan to gillingham.

Yeah shame we sent him on loan again, would prefer to see him given an opportunity at left back over KWP on his wrong side (and would much prefer KWP pushing to be our first choice left back).

Not really AM is issue it’s a decent back up striker. With everyone fit and x6 AM one wouldn’t make match day squad. If Son and lamela are there Sunday our bench looks fine. Last season we only had X3 AM start of season.

5 players is plenty, you can't keep them all happy otherwise.

We also have option of Llorente partnering Kane if we play a 3-5-2.

The position we are vulnerable in is central midfield at present until Winks can play a sustained period without his ankle causing him issues, Wanyama proving he can get 100% fit again and ongoing concerns re: managing Dembele inbetween games and the possibility of him going in January.

But they wasn't there against Watford and the bench didn't look fine ! no guarantee we will get a season out of Lamela, should have 2 players for every position and it's not like we even have a decent youngster who could come in and do a job, without playing someone out of position we couldn't rest Eriksen, Dele and Moura in a Carabao Cup game.

So 5 players is plenty to cover 3 attacking midfield positions, but we are vulnerable in central midfield ( 2 positions) where we have 5/6 players as cover, please explain that one too me !

That's because Lamela was injured and Son was on international duty, It's a rare occurrence. You can't keep buying players just because our bench is weak for one match.

Who are the 5/6 who can cover?

I kinda did explain my reasons in my original post re: Winks / Wanyama / Dembele concerns.

I love the way the press keep going on about Janssen not getting a number/spot in the squad.
The guy is out injured until December so why would we even consider including him if he's going to be out until then???
If we absolutely have to, we can add him back in once the transfer window re-opens (possibly why we named only 24 players at the moment).

Lamela being injured is a rare occurrence !!! where have you been for the the last 3 season's ? who's saying keep buying player's ? i'm just saying we should have 2 players for every position, why do you think that we were supposedly after Zaha, Martial etc if Poch thought we had enough attacking mids.

Well the club sees him fit enough to give him a new contract, I'd say he's probably over the worst of his injuries and they probaly expect him to play a significant part of the season. We don't need 2 players for every position because it's overkill and seeing as we don't always play with 3 attacking mids it's doesn't make sense to keep buying them.

Why do you think we didn't end up buying the likes of Martial, Zaha? If we really had a problem in that area we would have bought someone else in, as such we did that in January by bringing in Lucas which essentially gives us 5 attacking mids, there's simply no space for another attacker in this team.

Because they were too expensive/ Utd wouldn't let martial go, plus there was no one else suitable that's why !

Well yes exactly, if we were in such a need of bringing someone in we would have, the fact is we didn't which tells it's own story that Poch is happy with the squad.
