Following our best start to a season in a bloody long time, we are well on the way to surviving again this year. Instead of 2pts from 8 games we have 9 points from 3 games, and even managed to steal 3 off liverpool !!

So my question to you SC forumites, is where will we get the remaining 31 points to ensure safety??

:hello:

Not sure I see the point of this thread, why are we looking for points for safety, we should be setting our targets a little higher don't you think?

Hopefully in the home games where we are expected to win, we do so. That means beating teams like fulham and birmingham who will sit back and wait for the odd chance to nick a goal which will frustrate us

:) I'd be over the moon with that, though beating the top 4 esp the scum would be a huge, huge bonus.

Forget that. Lets take it a game at a time. There will be games where we lose when we dont expect to. There will also be games we'll win that we dont expect to. The most important thing is, we wont be in a relegation scrap this season. So we can actually enjoy the season looking up at the table. Top 6 here we come. I think we'll stay in or around the top 6 for the entire season. That'll keep us interested all season.

I think we'll probably stay up now. Although Burnely have had a decent start too....

Burnley are actually a decent side. I think they'll stay up comfortably with Bolton and Portsmouth flapping around with Wolves, Hull and Birmingham for the relegation spots.

There are some seriously shite teams in the league this year, what with Boro and Newcastle being the shocks last year, it's left some of the chaff in, who would normally have gone down.

Forget Liverpool, the 3 points against Hull are more important as we need to beat the teams in and around us if we're to stay up!

And I can't remember the last time we won away from home in the league by such an amazing margin. Things have changed and I believe we will get more away wins this season than in the last five or so.

I've got a feeling thet their kind of football suits the Premiership better than the Championship.

They said that about West Brom last season.... though Burnley play good football, they also have a physical side that will help them.

I've got a feeling if they stay up this season, they will become a regular fixture in the league....like Wigan have.

We'll see as the season goes on and Burnley pick up a few injuries as to how far they can go. Hull had a great start last season too and almost got relegated. It all comes down to character and how those teams respond to a few defeats. Just like how we struggled early on last season. I think Burnley will rely heavily on their home form to stay up this season. Whether they can keep it up, only time will tell. They're looking good so far though.

The six points Burnley have now will make a massive distance as to whether they survive or not. With those two penalty misses they've used a big chunk of their luck for the season already though. I think they'll stay up but it'll be tight all the way, like Hull last year once people figure out their system they'll lose some of their momentum. still, they are a better team than Hull last season so if they can build on this start they'll be fine. They need at least 25 points by Christmas I'd say.

Hope spurs get a win over Birmingham. 12 points in the bag before meeting Man Utd and Chelsea would be a massive boost.

Please... Portsmouth won't win a game if they don't go buy, and that's looking less likely as time goes on.

Bolton should do okay. Hull look dire.
