31 points to safety. Where will we get them?

Somewhere in the world there's a former Spurs fan that denounced Spurs prior to Levy's hatchet falling last October thinking that we were doomed DOOMED to relegation...which we were....the contrast in performances before and after must make many a face red....... What a difference Levy's decision has made.

Irony aside, it's the next game that matters. We were hopeless against fellow relegation contenders last season despite being more than competitive against Top 4.

I think we should be looking at where we will get the 80+ points that will guarantee us the title! :hello:

Burnley will struggle after Christmas, like Hull did last year. They work bloody hard collectively, but they will be exhausted by the new year. No amount of fitness work can allow a side to press and hurry teams as much as they have done against Man Utd and Everton for a whole season unless they have a huge squad.

In all seioussness the Manu game, we should have beaten them at WHL the last two seasons, we're stronger they're weaker even if Ferdinand and Van Der Saar were fit. We should win that game, I don't think we're going to win the League but we should win that game. They might be occupied with CL games too by then.

Burnley are actually a decent side. I think they'll stay up comfortably with Bolton and Portsmouth flapping around with Wolves, Hull and Birmingham for the relegation spots.

There are some seriously shite teams in the league this year, what with Boro and Newcastle being the shocks last year, it's left some of the chaff in, who would normally have gone down.

It's early days but you could be right. So far I'd add Blackburn to your contenders for the drop. Burnley are the new Stoke. They are going to work extremely hard to stay up. I worry for Wolves (as I have a few fans in the family) as they don't look strong enough. However they have surprised me with their perseverance and spirit.

Your second point was missed by a lot of people on here last year when a similar situation existed. Having access to all the games it was not hard to note that there were a lot worse teams than us. Over a season class tells and our team was far better than half the others. I'm not sure why people couldn't see that. This season we should be in the top 6. Nothing is guaranteed but we have the players and coaches to be that successful.
