Huntelaar would represent decent value at 20m Euro. Not convinced he is an elite level striker though.

88 - Spurs have had 88 attempts on goal in their last 4 games but have scored just 2 goals. Update. (via @EPLIndex)

So, can we get Klaas?

Did we not have 100 odd shots a couple of seasons ago and manage no goals? This is nothing new.

We've not really got anyone for him to play with either. Ideally he needs to play off a hardworking targetman like Ade.

His form at Schalke has been with Raul playing off him in addition to runners from midfield.

We have players that can do the same, he'd have no problems playing in our team.

Also when has he ever played with a hardworking big man?

I'm not sure about his time at Ajax but he certainly didn't play with one at Real or Milan. Holland don't have one either and play with one upfront.

Boy knows how to put the ball in the net, always has. Would thrive in our side, snip at €20m IMO

Whatever Huntelaar's shortcomings, I just get the feeling that he and Rafa would be dynamite together. Maybe lacking pace as a partnership, but I reckon they would rack up the goals in the PL.

he would make the same impression in England as Van Nistelrooy

No one has ever doubted Huntelaar's finishing ability.

The problems with are that he's slow, can't hold the ball up and has no alround game/link-up play. If you want a 1980s poacher then he's your man. But he's not a modern #9 equipped for the EPL (or Spain or Italy).

I've always thought Pav would absolutely rip it up in Germany too.

Must say I'm of this belief as well, from what I have seen in Germany this season. But, the man can finish - of that there is no doubt.

Pace isn't an absolute neccessity in English football. It has become more important in large part down to a lot of the tactics employed by teams where they get the ball forward as often and early as possible and hope to use the pace to beat defenders directly. There are ways of manipulating defences without having pace in the forward line though. We have wide players who are going to effectively occupy defenders and at times need more than one man to defend them. We could definitely use that effectively to pull a defence around and create decent shooting opportunities for a finisher as good as Huntelaar.

Should have signed him years ago. He probably suits us more now than he did then though so its not a lost cause. I think 20 is a couple overs but its still a wise investment.

I remember saying a few years ago when we were creating chances left right and centre all we needed was an Inzaghi type striker who knows how to be in the right place at the right time and knows how to put the ball in the net

Ideally you need a player who can do more if he is going to lead your line, but I can certaily see the merits of a guy like Hunterlaar. If we had a goal scorer we would probably win a lot more games or at least win them more comfortably.

I think against the bigger better teams maybe we need a hold up, strong player who can link play but against teams where we are dominant (which is the case for the bulk of teams at home) we create a ton of chances and a man like him would score bag fulls.

As an option, someone who can play certain games and rotate here and there with an Adebayor type I'd love to have him on board.

To be honest I'd probably rather see us sign him than Rossi, unless Rossi is available for a much cheaper price as touted.

Adebayor and Hunterlaar in or Hunterlaar and Leandro.... what I am saying is maybe I would be unhappy if Hunterlaar was the only striker we brought in and our options were Hunterlaar, VdV, Defoe or Saha, but Hunterlaar AND any of Leandro, Adebayor, Rossi or Remi and we would be in business I think.

Defoe and Saha out, Hunterlaar plus one of the listed would be great summer business
