We have needed a top forward for a while now. I would be amazed if we brought in two or more in the Summer. Perhaps one if we pull our finger out.

There's something very "Tottenhamy" about Huntelaar that I've never quite put my finger on.

I've always thought that he'd end up with us. I still think he might - based on nothing but perhaps signing him in some sort of Football Manager-related game and him being fantastic.

That isn't a sarcastic rant about FM-type games, more my desire for him to be in a Spurs shirt.

I think he could be bloody good for us.

I also think the same about Kießling.

Huntelaar would be good if we can get Leandro too and ship Defoe & not keep Ade. That leaves us with:
Huntelaar
Leandro
Saha
Youth... Couliaby etc...

Playing off VdV/ Hazard/ Falque

I agree that he's not the fastest, but that doesn't automatically mean he's slow. Anyone remember Alan Shearer? Not the fastest at all but knew how to get his head and foot on the ball, he knew how to be in the right place and find the right space when need, isn't he the EPL all time top goal scorer?

Yes but Shearer in his pomp was strong, not overly short on pace and damn right rough. He bossed.

Huntelaar for me is not the signing we should be looking at, he I believe was not interested in us back in the day so why now?

He is thriving in the right league at the right age, for me that is him done.

The time he would take to adapt to the EPL hussle and busstle would in my opinion be too long and he would be just another Pav Mk2, though his finishing might be a tad better!

I think the lad is good, I just think it's too late for him to go tearing up the EPL and can we please drop the International stats!! Let's face it, look at Crouch's goal return for England:

42 Apps and 22 Goals... hardly poor.

I think we should at least aim higher and younger.

Now, if he was interested and available and not our only attempted striker signing, then hey, maaaaybeee.

But honestly I think he would be mad to move away from Germany just as he is once again finding great form.

But like i said, the guy has shown no interest previously in coming to Spurs... hell when was the last time he was realistically linked to any EPL club?!!

Same for me and Podolski, he needs to be the big fish. Was crap at Bayern but has flourished at Kölln (Collogne) and I am surprised that he is heading to Arsenal, but money and Ego talks I guess.

Nonchalance I reckon. Problem is that he's got an awful lot less to back it up than Berbatov, Hoddle and co.

I agree with Dan on this.

We're creating a lot at the moment in part due to the contribution Adebayor makes to spreading our play.

If you took him out and put Huntelaar in we may get some more goals but we'd also create a lot less and lose a big element of our play I fear.

Huntelaar is not world class.

Huntelaar was the EC qualifying overall topscorer with 12 goals in 8 appearances, is the current EL topscorer with 9 goals in 8 games and is battling it out with Gomez for the Bundesliga topscorer without having Robbery on the wings.

He's world class.

People saying he's slow or has lousy link up play must have not seen him play in Oranje's recent interland against England or his recent hattrick against Twente.

That's all well and good, deselina, but has he done this against the might of Wigan or WBA? No, no he hasn't.

In summation, KJH = dog turd.

I've always been a fan of KJH but while I wanted Spurs to get him I secretly doubted he'd be great in the premier league other than as a finisher. That England goal was outstanding though and rid me of some of my doubts. I don't like strikers that don't do anything except pop up once in awhile and score (Defoe, Bent, Hernandez) but Huntelaar's technique and movement gives him bit more.

Still, I would be surprised if we finally did buy him now that he is more and expensive and older than when we passed on him before.

I have a funny feeling he'll go to neither. Too old for such a high fee. No real chance of a sell on fee... north London will baulk once again

Would love the hunter just so we can have a strike force completely made up of acronyms - VDV & KJH looks good

Na seriously I'm beyond caring who it is I just want someone who can FINISH!!! Getting sick of seeing Ade trying to side foot it in the corner everytime, just cos he played with Henry doesn't mean he can finish like him!

Should I add that I thought he played well last night and he's done well for us? Can't finish though.
