I’m as guilty as most on here. But I think sometimes a reality check is needed.I’m almost certain when poch took over his remit was to make us a consistent top 4 club. I very much doubt winning a title or CL was mentioned.I’m sure the plan was something like let’s try and be top 4 till 2nd year in new stadium. Then we can think about increasing spending and wages. How we have assembled this squad on a net spend of £9m is truly insane.Whether by brilliant management scouting or luck i’m Really not sure. Consider in the last year or so both Manchester clubs have spent £300m net each,to be able to compete with us.
The trouble will Obviously be trying to keep this squad together for another 2 years. If we can do then we may have a chance to seriously challenge. But can we ever really compete with Might of Manchester I’m not sure.I know it’s hard to not carried away sometimes and think we should go to OT and win. But currently we are seriously punching. It’s the equivalent of force India competing with Mercedes and Ferrari. It’s quite baffling how we are even in this situation.

The remit when Poch took over was to be in a position to challenge for titles the season we moved to the new stadium.

There’s a big difference between talking about winning the title and Champions League and actually doing it. Right now we are a consistent top 4 club.

We are sort of challenging now although there is a difference between challenging and winning it but I would take what we have now over what we had 10-15years ago.

I think we've done so well since Poch arrived that managing expectations under our wage constraints has actually been quite a struggle for Levy. We've managed to recruit extremely well and we've brought our own players through the ranks to fill the gaps. We've only really lost Kyle Walker but we've replaced him well with Aurier. I hope we can pay our top players wages to keep them on board once the revenue boost kicks in with the new stadium but I don't see us ever going overboard in the transfer market.

I thought this was a thread about Kevin Spacey’s lawyers prepping for the court case.

Really? On a close to net spend? Pochettino needs his head looked at ;)

We have more than achieved what we set out to do.
and we've done it 'our way'
Levy espouses the new philosophy because it suits his philosophy too.
Much more bang for your bucks.
Pochettino was made for him.

Emphasis on youth,( though they are all getting older Mr.P)
bringing through our own( 2 to date and more hovering)
improving what we have.
Team is more than the sum of it's parts.
and a joy to follow.
Real Madrid up tomorrow at Wembley our temporary home

I'm lovin' it

Sometimes a reality check is needed.

But sometimes paragraphs are needed too.

Not me I miss the 90s when we were losing at home 0-3 to Sheffield Wednesday and the likes and grown men reduced to hissy fits and throwing their season tickets on the pitch

In my defence paragraphs were included. But when “post” button was pressed they totally disappeared. I’m blameless in all this.

Not sure I know any world manager that would have accepted that remit based on £9m net spend. Most would have laughed in Levy’s face. If poch did he he’s either brave or foolish.
