59th Minute Applause

I’d just like to express my sincere thanks to everybody who stood alongside us to honour our friend, Steve Potts.

The idea of a 59th minute applause was born at short notice, so to see not only supporters standing to applause but also knowing the reasons behind it was overwhelming.

Pottsy was a regular at Spurs for over 50 years. Home and away, intertoto or champions league, Steve was there. I can honestly say that I’ve yet to cross Paths with another supporter quite like him.

Our match day experience will never be the same without him but we all take great solace in that small moment of rememberance last night. His partner Elaine and son Joel were both very moved. Thank you all again.

Steve was my Mum’s cousin, his dad, Jack is the reason I support Spurs.

Absolute top bloke who’ll be missed, great to hear the applause.

Said it in the match thread, but was a proper emotional night for our lot. Seeing his empty seat was hard work to say the least. Looking forward to seeing Joel sitting in it for the Leicester game.
