A Crazy Thought

Gilberto wants to leave Arsenal.

Would I be mad to suggest him to fill our gaping hole in midfield? Not that I think we'd move for him, or he'd come here, but surely he's just the sort of player we need in the middle?

Slate away.

Nope. He's a good player playing in a great team. I don't think he has enough quality individually to transform any team.

And he sulks. And he's ugly.

If he came, he'd probably be playing centre-half most of the time, anyway. :|

He's a giant step up from our current midfielders, so club pride aside, I'm in.

This is the sentence I agree with the most on this site. Ever.

Since bomber's 'wanking' thread anyway

I don't think so.

Even if we wanted him he wouldn't come to Spurs.

I think the less said about this the better.....

If we agreed to make him captain for next 24 months he might come .

If Ledley was fit would we be happy to drop Dawson , Kaboule , Rocha , Dervitte or one of the central midfielders to make a place for him ?

Looks like we have too much young talent and no room for experience . Need to thin the seedlings out or send them out on loan .

ha! i was saying this to my gooner mates in the pub sunday. he's just what we need in our midfield at the moment

but i don;t think we'd get him, even if we wnated him i think he'll be off to Italy in January if he does go!

Gilberto would be a good signing for us, just the sort of hard nosed professional we need. Unfortunately I cannot really see it happening, our own crap performances so far, The gooner connection, his age, possibly his wages as well, are all against him being a realistic option. Shame though.

He wouldn't cross over - it's ingrained so deeply in the dressing room that only the ignorant risk it...
