Your life would be perfect if you were an Arsenal fan

Thery split your penis in half and then fold it inside out and insert in into the pubic caveity below the pelvis, to make a man who wants to be a woman into a woman. Would Spursking turning into Goonking be as painful for him?

On an impartial game, yes. on a game where spurs are playing, definatly no. At the mo, i would take five 1-0 wins rather than five 4-3 wins for us no problem.

No, 4-3 is factually better than winning 1-0. In a Premier League game anyway. Goals scored comes before goals conceded. If we and Arsenal were on the same points, same goal difference and same goals scored, and we won our next game 4-3 and they won theirs 1-0, we would go ahead of them in the league. They would have conceded less goals than us, but we would have scored more goals, which is the more important thing.

A woman trapped in a mans body has a dead soul so enduring the pain is worth it to them? I assume the same would apply to an Arsenal fan stuck in the shell of a spurs supporter

and from our point of view is it a numbers game? can we....would we encourage a person trapped in that way to free themselves? One less of us to make one more of them justified perhaps by rescuing one persons soul??? (as i type this "shine on you crazy diamond" is playing on my ipod. True story)
I don't know what to do.
I wish Ledley were here, he'd know what to do.

....ironically enough if Ledley wasn't at spurs i think the point would be a mute one. Ledley is perhaps the "love for his penis" in this mental metaphor.

It is sad to say it, but a good defence is the way Arsenal are building.

Clichy - Gallas - Toure - Sagna

All are strong, atheletic players with pace. They are building it my way, and for me it is so sad to see them picking up the players I have recommended many years before they joined.

i may have that inscribed on a plaque for you

Wow. A good defence is one which concedes very few goals.

Wasn't it Peter Beardsley that said:

"Score more goals that the opposite team, and obviously....you've won......obviously"

I prefer the 1-0 victory because it suggests a certain level of control over the game.

I would compare it to a boxing match where a good fighter dances about making sure they don't get hit, waits for an opportunity, and then knocks their opponent down.

4-3, suggests two headless chickens knocking seven bells out of each other hoping they get the last punch in.

The West Ham performance was a good example of controlling a game, except for a defensive error we would have won it comfortably.

So I think a good defence is simply one that doesn't make mistakes and therefore doesn't concede goals.

The same can also be said for strikers, although a defensive error cost us a goal a defender scored one so they cancel each other out. Had the strikers done their jobs and scored we would also have won that game.

I think that the question is more about what type of football one would enjoy watching, and the answer is of course, a 4-3 goalfest is ususally infinitely more exciting than a 1-0.

But in terms of a good defence, and in terms of the definition of a good defence, the less goals a team concedes the better its defence is. If two teams were equal on everything and one team wins 1-0 and the other 4-3, then the 4-3 team goes above the 1-0 team, but only because they've scored more, which in effect is reward for better attck not better or worse defending.

A good defence

Chimbonda King Gardner Assou-Ekotto

That back four has the lot. (Bale left wing for me)

Hmmm, I'd say Arsenal are bricking it looking at that defence.

Agree about Bale on the left wing tho.

I'd just like to bump this really quite nonsensical thread of mine and say that yesterday had our attack made more of the offensive possession and pressure we caused and taken their chances, we would have defended our lead and won the game. But because we didn't do that, we managed to lose.

I think 2 goals at home against a weak out of form Birmingham side should always be enough to guarantee a win.

But clearly it wasn't, and surely we should have taken much more advantange of the attacking we did in that game, certainly compared to all that they did.

If your defence is solid and never gives much away thats a massive bonus. No team can go around scoring 3 or 4 goals every game, its just impossible. Liverpool are on a rich vain of goalscoring form, but that won`t continue and more often than not, no matter how many chances you create, there will be days when they just don`t go in and 1-0 is something you have to take. How many times do Arsenal, Man united, Chelsea or Arsenal keep clean sheets and walk off with a 1-0? (i don`t actually know the answer to that one by the way)

The best form of defence is defence, give nothing away and don`t make hard work for yourselves. Would be nice to win 4-3 or 3-2 every week, but it doesnt happen.

I think it's more possible for us to score 3 or 4 goals every game, than to concede 0 or 1 goals every game!

At present thats not possible, its bleeding true. But i bet Ramos and infact almost every premiership manager wants their teams to keep "clean sheets" and be solid, give nothing away. Its is the reason why, over Tottenhams History we haven`t won league titles to often.
