I don’t understand the mentality of abusing ITK / Mods.

Anybody who thinks signing players is a simple process clearly doesn’t understand how complicated these things can be or knows Spurs history (recent and past) of being painfully close before being pipped at the last minute.

As for the ban stick, these people complaining need to grow a pair and stop taking themselves and everything they read so seriously.

Tip of the day - as soon as you start feeling angry at the shocking way our club is run just go visit the laugh at West Ham thread and see what a real mess looks like.

even though it's no excuse it's either kids, trolls, or people that gamble to heavy and when they hear the news a deal has hit the fan, they take it out on the wrong people

this was the 1st forum I found unless you wanna call teamtalk a forum (though did point me in this direction) and wouldn't consider going anywhere else (unless I got banned from the whole forum). the rules are clear as day and you also pick them up as you go along. in general there is a brilliant crowd on SC just a shame there is always a few that want to ruin it for everyone else

Thanks for all you and the admins do, Rob.

Didn't read any replies but Rob's post is spot on. People should enjoy the forum, stay on topic and follow the (frankly undemanding, sensible and easy to follow) rules.

I do laugh at how seemingly normal people can get so emotional over this stuff. Just read and consume, and if you must share an opinion do it in the appropriate thread.

That said, I don’t know why @Archibald&Crooks gives a feck about going off topic (I get the rules re tweets and dissing the info). Is it really worth getting a coronary over it? It’s self policing anyway because we get 10 posts saying stop going off topic or A&C will get you. And that makes it worse cos that’s just spamming too.

Chill people, enjoy the sunshine, and revel in Jose’s misery.

There were some right man babies about. Throwing toys out their prams and giving indirect digs at the ITKs. Well done for wielding the ban stick Mods.

To be honest I’d rather it stay on topic then 20pages of net spend or 2018 version - Home Grown.

Good riddance to them. Keep wielding that ban stick and send them back to the places of twits where they belong.

I thought that it had been established that it's now to be referred to as the ban truncheon. ;)

People get so emotional every transfer window. ITK's pass on what they can, when they can. It's pretty simple really. No need for the shenanigans people.

That reminds me of a suggestion I wanted to make to @Rob

Any chance you add a sheriffs badge rating for this scenario (for non-mods of course), make it a positive one as they are only trying to help, but I think it'd be quite funny.

A selfless job by mods et all. Thank you so much for your time and efforts with running the site.

Best part of my day is checking in on the Spurs merry-go-round.

Ignore them. They are better off elsewhere!

Cheers for a great website. Been here since 2004 and never fail to be informed and amused by the range of characters on here, with your funny little avatars that I pretend are your faces as I read your posts.

Can we bring back Manwhore’s Mansion though? :)

My face is no where half as gorgeous as my avatar, in fact half is being generous:whistle:

Has similar ever been considered:

-Closing off membership during the transfer window
-Transfer forum isn’t visible to non-members

I feel like we’ve seen a ton of “new members” posting in the itk threads, with a few whom I suspect are members previously banned expressing their opinions.

While it wouldn’t stop intelligent members who want to post erratic comments from making a secondary account to do-so, prior to the window opening, it would likely help. You could also always open membership up to new members during the window if they pay a fee, as it would help with server costs, at least, and discourage trolls.

Genuinely great forum and think the modding is fantastic. Dont think any of us appreciate how much work it is. Ive been lurking for probably something like 10 years and, over the past few years, been donating because of the quality and changes (rules) made. If there was still 100 pages discussing best formations including the player(s) linked on twitter, I wouldnt have time to read and no way would I donate. Im sure banning isnt a 100% science, but its clearly usually got right due to improvements in threads. And for those got wrong, its a shame but until SC get full time paid Mods, we really cant expect A&C to spend hours hearing complaints / justifications from everyone that gets banned.

Thanks SC!

It's as simple as this:

Don't walk into someone's house and crap in their living room.

The staff even point out when you enter the house where the toilets are, so there's no excuse.

The simple reality is there are simple rules to follow and they are there to make the forum a better place.

If you don’t follow these simple rules and make the forum a worse place why should you be kept around?

If people cared about something other than themselves and respected the amount of effort that goes into running a forum of this size then they wouldn’t be doing the things that get them banned.

But I’m pretty sure that this site wants and needs views (members or otherwise) so that rob can get a little of the server money from the google ads which I think are paid either by view or site traffic.

Oh and I discovered this wonderful site when 606 shut (I think from Valyid, or at least conversations around his ITK). The ITK section is good, but all the cool kids hang about in Chat and drink to excess there.

Yeah we made a decision a long time that we didn’t want to be like COYS and do things behind closed doors. Even people who are banned can still log out and read everything.

I made an error once on this site, I replied to a comment in the ITK forum and it had nothing to do with ITK (genuine mistake but my bad still) and A&C let me on (just the once) so I think the mods have been fairly lenient tbh but some of the comments have been just plain silly. The ITK bashing is so illogical, simply don't read it.

See, this is exactly why I don't get all the whinging from these entitled idiots that got themselves banned. The rules are strict, yes, but A&C is not a tyrant about them.

When I first started here I put a couple things in the ITK thread without quite understanding that it was against the rules. When it happened, I was told by other posters. I apologized for my ignorance, A&C removed the post and said not to worry, just be more careful next time.

So its not breaking the rules that gets you banned, its flagrantly breaking them, perhaps over and over, and then acting like its your right to do so - on a site you neither run or pay for.

Yay entitlement?

And a reminder that there’s no right of appeal if you are banned from here. This has just gone out to the latest person who asked me why he can’t see ITK but applies to everyone with that problem.

If you can no longer see it your access has been taken away. There is no right of appeal as every banned member would appeal and we don’t have the staff to investigate every claim. We trust the judgement of the moderator who made the call at the time.

I don't think that's always the case, which is why some people get upset. Some people spam up the thread regularly and are still allowed in, while others might have made one or two off topic comments and have been banned. They just happened to make them when the mods/whoever was less lenient.
