TBH are the rules really that strict? They all make sense and are for our benefit.
A&C does a bleeding marvelous job, much of the time with great humour. The moaners csn go and do one.

I would like to say that I actually got banned this morning for posting some ITK on Zaha, without following the rules.

I should have put it to a mod first for approval.

I made a genuine error and owned up to my mistake. I totally understood my error and could only apologise.

The mod team are very fair and they appreciated my very genuine apology.

Really sad that people feel the need to abuse people trying to make this site what it is, and better for us all!

Well done @Rob, @Archibald&Crooks et al, for working so hard to keep the site running smoothly.

I like this site. I mean, it’s no Harry Hotspur but it’s a very good site.

:sneaky:

Well done to all the mods who make it work, especially Roberto and ArchiCrooks. Viva la SC.

Rob and A&C, thank you. For this great site. And not running away screaming with the amount of crud you have to deal with. Kick the idiots out so it's better for us and just as importantly, your good selves.

The 'the rules are the rules, like it or lump it' thing has been around for a long time and is an aspect of every forum site in the world, not just SC.

The thing is, the rules make sense, strict or otherwise. Take ITK-bashing. Imagine you were a genuine ITK and you happen across some juicy information which you wanted to share with your fellow Spurs fans. You post it. It gets discussed and then some brain donor has a pop at you. And then another. And another. And another. They do it because they don't want to believe what you say. Their 'analysis' of the matter you've ITK'd on is different to yours and so they think it appropriate to call you out on it. And because they feel protected by the monitor, they do it with an ad hominem attack or in withering terms. In that situation, how likely is it that you'd want to post any other information you happen to come across and risk getting flamed again?

Now, one might argue that an ITK is nobody special - I've seen some comments along those lines before they were deleted. But that's just the thing: in the scenario of a transfer window, they are special. They have access to information that only a few people have. And with Rob and A&C verifying the status of the person providing it, that means it has real value. ITKs provide something that is rare and of value in a transfer window: information. Would anyone with a modicum of sense risk a personal possession that was rare and / or of value? So why should it be different here?

And lastly, if you don't understand the rules, don't risk it. I rarely post in the Daily ITK threads. Why? Because I'm not fully au fait with what constitutes an acceptable response. So I don't risk it. That way, I keep myself safe from bans, ITKs don't take offence, and the staff have less to do. I read and I'm sure that when I feel more confident, I'll chip in my tuppenceworth.

Unfortunately, this is a side effect of the internet: the safety of the screen can sometimes make infants of us all. We all want our voices heard and we forget that there are actual people out there receiving those voices. In this particular instance, that infantile behaviour can cause inconvenience to a large group of people and that's just downright inconsiderate. I always try to follow this rule: when on a forum, don't type anything that you wouldn't be willing to say to someone's face. I don't always succeed, but it's a good objective to aim for as it keeps me within the bounds of respectfulness.

Rant over.

I've been a moderator on two previous, small scale, spurs forums in the past, and that was enough work to be honest.
Screw you, Gassin, I was a mod on COYS once upon a time [genuinely], and you don't know what hard work is until your every waking hour is spent banning someone for using oxygen in their bloodstream to metabolise food into chemical energy.

I rarely post much but would like to say I was once a member of COYS until I got banned which led me here and I've not looked back since.
As many others have said this by far and away the very best spurs/ football forum out there so a huge huge thank you to everyone involved in running our Spurs Home

The little bitches!

Joining another forum sounds way to much work.

I’m getting old I can’t handle change, new password, different layout, so much effort, so I will stay here if it’s ok.

#FuckUotherSpursForums
P.s I don’t really know what a hash tag is.

I made an error once on this site, I replied to a comment in the ITK forum and it had nothing to do with ITK (genuine mistake but my bad still) and A&C let me on (just the once) so I think the mods have been fairly lenient tbh but some of the comments have been just plain silly. The ITK bashing is so illogical, simply don't read it.

I'm pretty sure it's been said that the ITK have some process of contacting the mods first to make sure the person is legit and then each time they pass the info on? not sure about that last bit.

Out of curiosity, I've just visited a few of the other site after only just reading about them, and I can say without a doubt that SC is by far the best out of the ones I've seen so those who conspired can get gone and enjoy the shower of shit that is any other spurs forums.

Cheers for all the hard work chaps, mods and ITK included.

For the record, I really don't think the rules are that strict and totally see why they are absolutely needed.

I don’t understand the mentality of abusing ITK / Mods.

Anybody who thinks signing players is a simple process clearly doesn’t understand how complicated these things can be or knows Spurs history (recent and past) of being painfully close before being pipped at the last minute.

As for the ban stick, these people complaining need to grow a pair and stop taking themselves and everything they read so seriously.

Tip of the day - as soon as you start feeling angry at the shocking way our club is run just go visit the laugh at West Ham thread and see what a real mess looks like.

Well said Rob, honestly one thing I wish was a requirement on here was people post their real age. Cause it’s will confirm children from fuckwits. It’s easily found out. I’ve never really looked at other other Spur’s forums but I’m pretty sure it’s like all other forums, some people think they are either the life and soul of the forum or that they have no real perspective on reality.

What I love is the majority of the bastards say, *well ur losing the best posters*, honestly you are not, I mean i am still here......

Purge the bastards, I love a good purge me.
