Jose Enrique - eyes Spanish switch.
ENRIQUE READY FOR NEWCASTLE EXIT Jose Enrique has revealed he is prepared to take a pay cut to secure a move away from Newcastle.
The Spanish defender is the latest player to voice his disillusionment at St James' Park as the club are still looking for a new manager and owners.
The 23-year-old admits he would jump at the chance to return to Spain with Atletico Madrid thought to be interested in the former Villarreal left-back.
"If there's any interest from a Spanish club I'll take the offer seriously," said Enrique.
"I have a very good contract at Newcastle but in football terms I'm not feeling good
"I'll give up money from my contract as long I'm able to go back to Spain. I want to be successful in my career and money's not my main target.
"Newcastle don't have an owner and we don't even have a manager and with the season starting in a month. Everybody wants Alan Shearer to continue but nobody knows what's happening
"Things are not right and the situation isn't good. I'm annoyed because it's the fans who are suffering."

He has restored my faith that there are some players out there still who do it for the love of the game rather than the money:clap:

Why has that restored your faith in footballers?

An already weathy man is willing to abandon his recently relegated club in order to go home. A club who likely overpaid him so he would be returning to Spain to pay for a better team for money closer to his worth. 'I dont like it here, im off' sounds more.

There's plenty of good people in football but im not sure this is one of the stories to highlight

It doesn't surprise me that the Nuke's players are getting fidgety this far in to pre-season.

There will be others thinking the same, talking through their options with their agents. The Club can do nothing about anyone demanding a sale as the players have had no guidance regarding a structure within which to train and play, since the end of last season.
