Watching the team I fell in love with as a kid ripped apart one season at a time... Hoddle, Waddle, Gazza... Once Lineker was gone it looked rather bleak... And it would another 12 years, a Ginola or Klinsmann aside before it would look good again.

The Chelsea cl thing never really got to me. I had already accepted they were going to win it which I think helped.

John White's untimely death on the golf course. Nothing more to add except, for those too young, imagine losing Christian Eriksen from todays team.

That's the one that my Dad would occasionally mention with genuine sadness. He came over from Ireland to work in London and was a regular at the Lane during White's final season before he died.

Similar here we knew Glenn was going, but Waddle was a shock. I heard him talk about how he didn't want to go and Spurs didn't want him to, so when Maseille mad a bid we said £4.5m thinking they would go away but said ok. At the time one of the biggest transfer fees ever. We had to take it.

Bit unfortunate that he was known as "the Ghost" but a real player. I loved watching him, Blanchflower and Mackay. Not always given the acclaim they really deserved, apart from Dave .

Same here. We got fucked over, but ultimately we finished 4th that season. 'Arry's carry on was more of a problem tbh.

Selling Berbatov and getting Campbell on loan.

I'd forgotten about that. I was so angry at the time, it was so insulting. Selling Berbatov was inevitable and we got very good money for him in fairness, but the whole Campell on loan, with no option to buy, was like Man Utd just mocking us. I'd have rather just had the money on it's own than take him on loan for no reason. It really was awful
