According to Crewe coach, we formally categorize our Academy players according to their potential and Jake Livermore is an "A", the highest category. It's good to hear some detail of Livermore's strengths, and I hope he develops well in his loan spells as O'Hara did early last season.

I guess John Bostock must be an A++ :):

Holland: "Livermore Has Real Potential"

Posted on: Wed 16 Jul 2008
Having joined Crewe Alexandra from Tottenham on Friday night, Jake Livermore was quickly in action against Quorn last night in one of our first pre-season friendlies this Summer.
The 18-year-old has joined on an initial six month loan deal, and having first impressed Steve with his talent is showing some real potential and living up to the review he got from the coaches in London.
Steve told crewealex.net: "I have known John McDermott, who is the Academy Assistant Manager at Tottenham, for a long time and he has a high opinion of Jake, and we did speak about him before hand. At a club like that they have what they call categories of players, and Jake is category A, the highest that they have.
"Although he is only young, he is on a four year deal there and this says a lot about what they think of him, so he is likely to get close to playing for their first team, if not actually feature for them. We are really pleased that Tottenham have allowed him to spend some time here."
Steve has not only been impressed with his footballing ability but also knows that the youngster has a lot to offer in terms of goal scoring as well as his overall athleticism.
Steve continues: "He is a super athlete who has actually a champion cross country runner when he was younger. He is 6ft 1in so adds some extra height in there too."

I wouldnt be suprised if we did categorise the Academy Players! I think the likes of:

Livermore, Bostock, Jansson, Townsend, Parrett, Rose, Mason etc would all be categorised as class A as all of them (with the exception of Bostoclk) played for our Reserve side while still being Academy players.

I saw him play a couple of times while on loan at MK Dons last season and although it is lower league and he was largely brought on towards the end of games you could certainly see the potential that this guy has.
