Alex Inglethorpe believes the feeling of disappointment in the ranks after drawing 1-1 against Villa - a team that beat us 7-2 last term - underlines the strides our Under-18s have made this season.

    Source: Official Site

Tomas Pekhart (pictured right) netted his 15th goal in 14 games to put us ahead in the first half and chances were spurned to put the issue beyond doubt - we were punished for not doing just that when Villa equalised in the second half.

Nevertheless, the draw made it 10 games unbeaten and just one defeat in 14 games in the FA Premier Academy League.

Alex reflected: "It was good to see that we needed to pick the players up after the game, it's a good sign and means their standards are getting higher.

"We went ahead after a good move and almost inevitably Tomas was on the end of it, his 15th goal in 14 games, quite an achievement for the lad.

"We dominated, had chances to win it and at 1-0, the shot count was 11-4 to us and they only had one shot on target. They scored after 68 minutes very much against the run of play, a cross to the far post and we didn't deal well with the second ball.

"We had two very good chances to add to the first goal including a one-on-one and if they'd been coverted, I think we'd have gone on to win the game comfortably.

"Overall we're very happy with the performance, the result could have been better this time but we're doing okay."

Spurs U18s: Button, Mtandari, Martin, Archibald-Henville (Townsend, 78), Mills, Martin, Hughton, Lewis, Pekhart, Hutchins (Hutton, 70), Fraser-Allen (Livermore, 70). Unused sub: Stroud.

pekhart again....the boy can't stop scoring.

im thinking that Peckhart should be on the bench for the southend game. Maybe give him half an hour to see what he's like in a competitive situation (only if the game is good and won by then though!!)

this young lad sounds so exciting, such as prospect. the pressure already seems to be on him from members in here, myself included. 15 from 14 WTF. would remind you of clive allen's magical season........Stop it. this boy sounds the buisness. when are we going to see him play?
  4. Captain Spur
Bloody hell 15 from 14 i take it this includes the goals and games he has scored/played for with the reserves aswell as the under 18's?
Either way he certainly seems to know where the goal is, can't be long before he is being considered for the full squad for a game against lower league opposition in one of the cups.
Well done son keep up the good work!

absolutely no reason not to give him a run out against southend
  6. Real_madyidd
One reason to not give him a run out against Southend. Man United.

Let's stop fucking about and win the cup.

Have to agree with Real-Madyidd on this one. Pekhart sounds like a very exciting prospect but he hasn't even established himself in the reserves yet.

The league cup looks like our best chance of winning something this year and so we should be taking it very seriously. I don't expect Southend to be a walkover.

Damn right. He's in the Academy side to develop his talent under a talented coach like Inglethorpe!!!

Have some patience, the coaching setup at Spurs is first class now (From Jol, Hughton, down to Inglethorpe, Moniz, Allen), and they know exactly how to develop Peckhart's talent.

i would love to see pekhart in the first team against southend but think its a step up too much, he is only in the under 18's and hasnt played for the reserves yet, when he does and starts scoring in there then he will be ready for sitting on the bench at tottenham
  10. crespo2go
rephrase: no reason not to give him a run out against southend once we're 3-0 up
  11. liamc23
Andy Barcham is ahead of him at the moment hence the reason he played against port vale
