Adam Johnson?

As you no doubt know there is a bit of speculation about us signing Adam Johnson from Middlesboro in january.

My father in law is a season ticket holder at Boro and has told me that they are talking about it up there as well and the guys he goes with seem to think that Johnson will definitely be leaving in January and they think he will come to Spurs.

They are pissed off as Johnson is very popular with the fans up there and a lot of them prefer him to Downing and would sooner the club sold Downing so that Johnson could get a regular place.

Just thought I would share.

Must admit I was a bit surprised that he was sent out on loan. I thought he'd already played well for Boro a few times.

I can remember when we were heavily linked with Downing (thank fuck we didn't buy him) that Boro fans opinion was that Johnson was the far better player of the two.

Can't say that I'm getting moist over this one but for the right money I won't be grumbling too much either.

Would also like to see Rose given a run out. Heard good things about him. Not seen anything for myself though, other than a couple of YT snippits.

He scoed 5 times in 11 appearances for Watford.

Not sure if he played wide for them but if he did that's an outstanding return.

I'm sure its a co-incidence but since he has gone back to Boro Watford have slumped.

i think that is areally good shout, the only worry about that is whether they think he is physically able to cope at this stage with what is a physical league.

I would also like to see Pekhart out on loan somewhere.

johnson possibly, i mentioned him some time ago on here, not sure we should continue to buy promising youngsters, seen a little bit of him and he is not half the player downing is yet.

whoever mentioned mendieta, no no nooooooooo, he was dropped by boro because he was playing so poorly, looked like a 50 yr old man trying to do what he once could with ease
