Adam Smith has joined MK Dons on loan until the end of the season.
The 20-year-old, who recently featured for the England team at the World Under-20 Championships in Colombia, spent last season on loan at Bournemouth, having previously gained league experience at Wycombe and Torquay.

Going to be tough for him to make it ahead of Corluka and Walker, but I think he can become a very solid full back, and an able backup for Walker in the future if he was okay with that.

After his excellent season with Bournemouth (League 1) - who just missed out on the play offs after Smith played in most matches - I had hoped he would get a season on loan with a Championship side and then contest a first team squad place at Spurs as many pundits thought he was good enough. Anyway best of luck to him - hope he has a storming season at MK Dons !

He's been called up to the England U21 squad. Is his loan at MK Dons for an entire season? If it is then maybe we should recall him and send him out to a Championship side so he can play at a higher level (as we did with Walker last season)

I was surprised he wasn't loaned to a Championship side amyway after the excellent season he had with Bournemouth (League 1) last season - he will not progress much playing for another League 1 side (MK Dons) this season - btw he will probably still qualify for UEFA List B next season (despite loan periods) next season but after that...not...so Spurs will probably should want him to stay for an extra year even with both Walker and Naughton who will be List A material.

just scored again - MK Dons are 2-0 up away to Orient. He looks a real player from what ive seen of him, 1 i can definately see making it in the PL.

Do your reckon he could be a backup for Walker next year maybe? Providing we sell Corluka and perhaps Naughton?

possibly - though id rather he went out on loan again to gain more experience. hopefully to either a top championship club or a low level PL club. I think at his age it is far more beneficial to be playing regularly.

Seems to be making a real impact at MK Dons, certainly one to keep an eye on...

Starting tonight against Premiership side QPR who seem to be fielding a strong team, should be a good experience

Very confident performance up against Shaun Wright-Phillips a lot of the time - and not outshone.

Commentators very complimentary, particularly of his crosses 'that's as good a cross as you will see at any level' was one comment. A couple of good long distance shots as well. His defending was not bad either.

Overall very good performance, no real erors made and lots of good stuff.

IMO, if Corluka wants out and Naughton is wanted by Norwich, he would not be a bad back up RB (and he plays LB as well)...but I am sure it would help his case if he could go on loan to a lower Premiership side (he definitely looks as if he could skip the Championship on this performance).
