Emmanuel Adebayor has reiterated he wants to stay at Tottenham beyond his loan spell and help Harry Redknapp's side to the Premier League title. The striker, on a season-long loan at White Hart Lane from Manchester City, has scored 10 goals in 23 appearances for Spurs, with the club currently third in the table.

The Togo international has set his sights on title success in North London under Redknapp, who he is not surprised to see installed as favourite for the vacant England managerial job.

He told The Sun: "I would love to stay at Tottenham and help them become champions.

"And I really enjoy working with this manager. Harry Redknapp has done so much to give me my confidence back. He told me, 'Whether you score or you don't score, you are a great player. You make goals, you work hard, you run for the team, you defend for the team. Your presence alone gives more space to others like Bale and Van der Vaart'.

"That's great to hear because when your manager makes those sort of compliments you do your very best for him.

"That's why I'm not surprised he is the main man now for the England job."

Tottenham visit Adebayor's former club Arsenal in Sunday's North London derby and the striker is expecting a frosty reception from the Emirates faithful after he ran the full length of the field to celebrate in front of them having scored for City in 2009.

The striker, who later apologised for that incident, feels he has matured since then and is looking forward to seeing his old team-mates.

He added: "Yes, I know the fans will give me a lot of stick for leaving and for my behaviour against them at Man City.

"But the truth is I had a great time there and am still fond of the players and staff who I will be delighted to see there.

"I have matured a lot and I have no hard feelings against anyone at the club.

"Arsenal is part of my life, so it's strange because I think it must be the first time Tottenham have gone there so far ahead in the table.

I really used to hate him.

Thought he was such an egotistical twat when he used to play for the Arse.

All that changed, not when he signed for us but when I listened to an interview in which he was ever so down to earth, level headed and just an all round nice sounding guy.

Humble pie was on the menu that day

For me it was when he was a pundit at the World Cup, I thought he did a great job and I realised that he wasn't the man he has been made out to be. I really hope we can sign him permanently, it might even help to keep Modric about if we can bring in our other targets.

Anyone see JD on Soccer AM? Everyone loves Ade. Say he's the funniest guy at the club. Would never have thought years ago.

Seems like Bale has a friendship with Ade, always celebrating goals with synchronised dance moves.

I think the Togo bus incident had a profound effect on him. As you might well expect!

We want more of the Ade who played against Newcastle, not so much of the lazy Ade who played in several games before that. He can do it, no doubt, it's just he tends not to be arsed a little too often for my liking.

I always knew of him as a player who missed chances, but also thought he was lazy.

Boy was I wrong.

His work rate is incredible, even when he doesn't score he puts in a great shift and its more often than not playing a part in a goal.

Its funny the way things have changed on SC. When Gallas was coming in there was I'd say a 80/20 split against it, but Ade by time it happened was probably 80/20 FOR him coming. We all knew he was a perfect fit for our side.

Um, you can level a LOT of things about Ade but lazy isn't one of them. I've not seen a striker as consistently busy as he's been for us.

So what did you think of Kanoute and Berbatov?

I do not agree he works hard enough, to begin with yes, when hes in the mood yes, games like today and probably 50% of his games for us now(or nearing that) he has just wandered around, barely chased anything down and had the touch of a donkey.

What is up with this guy, one moment he is amazing, next he is useless.
