Emmanuel Adebayor is expected to be available for Tottenham’s Capital One Cup tie against Brighton despite playing with an upset stomach against Newcastle on Sunday.

I find it baffling that he played with a dodgy stomach against Newcastle when we had Harry Kane sitting on the bench.

Starting him without illness with Soldado and Kane fit was retarded.

Starting him WITH an illness makes me worried about Poch's mental health.

The mystery continues. I'm lost for words to he played.

I can only imagine *clutches straws* is that Kane is feeling a bit stiff after the epic shift he put in on thursday and Soldado has a new born and is most likely struggling.

Fuck knows

This really has to go into the X- Files. I mean WTF starting him just beggars belief. Something's wrong somewhere

I didn't notice a difference in his performance... Other than the goal, he was still a passenger, and loved to be on the wings

I'm sorry, but we do this every year. Kane is the only striker I want to see on the pitch at the moment; I have lost faith is Soldado and Ade is lazy. And we have failed to a top striker for the 5,000th season(maybe a slight exaggeration, but it's how I feel)

Soldado's not been given a chance this season, and in the City game he was more impressive than Ade in all of his starts. The penalty miss was not a miss, it was a good save by Hart, and every aspect of his game deserves him a run of starts.

Kane is good under lesser opposition, but needs too much time and space to make a serious impact in front of goal. This is something that will get corrected in time, and he's close. Until he develops his reflexes and speed, Soldado should be our starting striker.

If this is true (about Ade's known illness), then we've got serious problem with Poch, if he started him anyway. Perhaps this may go some way to explaining things...

I suspect that Levy may have asked Poch for a balance of AVB's structure / tactical play, combined with Sherwood's penchant for gung-ho football with Ade in front of goal. This clearly isn't working as they represent polar opposite approaches. This wouldn't be the first time Levy's stuck his nose into management affairs and constrained the head coach.

Apparently, it transpired after the fact that he shouldn't have played against Newcastle in the first place due to a stomach illness.
So he's returning from the game he wasn't out for? I was hoping they meant he's returning to his 2008 form

I think the story of having a stomach bug is clutching at straws to eexplain an embarrassing result.
A very ill conceived (excuse pun) story to leak because if Ade let this out the bag it makes Poch look a cock (ooh that rhymes) for picking him, and if Poch let it out it makes him look a double bell end with tinsel on.
Either way Poch only comes out of this looking stupid which he did already, playing Ade in front of Kane or Soldado given their recent performances.

I'm only paraphrasing what was reported in the article. Its veracity, like most other reports can only be subjectively evaluated. Either way, it's clear to me that the tomfoolery responsible for last season's derailment is far from exorcised from the walls of White Hart Lane. Something's definitely not right.

Makes the decision not to play Soldado after he did well against City look even more weird.

Wonderful:rolleyes: By the way, return? Yeah, like he missed any time:rolleyes:

If there is one place Ade should be returning to, it is the development squad that he was relegated to by AVB. Maybe then he'll be motivated to fucking do something on the pitch. You have to motivate Ade, not hand everything to him like Poch has done by automatically giving him the #1 striker role and a leadership role.

Yeah, and this time there won't be a Tim Sherwood to help him undermine our entire fucking season either!

You should be on stage, the late, great Richard Prior has nothing on you.
