Thinly disguised "I am considerably richer than yow* post.

Disgusting!
I could do goal line technology from my bachelor pad lol Was watching the Betis Malaga game last week or something and they didn't give a goal that I thought crossed the line, the commentators didn't even pick up on it. So I rewinded and paused and it was indeed over the line lol :)

Great technology these days, what the fuck am I going on about!!!!

Oh absolutely. HD makes it even easier. The fact that a decade(ish) on and we don't even have technology helping out on goal line decisions is ridiculous. Even sillier the technology, minus the HD bit, has been around for decades now. This game is so unprofessional. At every single level you can think of. Even now, with the vast gobs of cash floating around, it's largely a joke.

Pro sports, unlike every other significant industry in the world, has such low standards.

HD has been around for ages its that there was never any point in commercialising it seeing as they hadn't yet fully milked previous products. :)

Not disputing that - interesting to hear though, ta - just that as a widely available tech it''s only really become the norm since then.

TV was plop before hand. Thank God I wasn't born during the obviously shit radio days. Ugh, feel ill just thinking about it.

Adebayor still runs across the path closing off the gap that is there. If he didnt make that run (checks his run) to keep the defender from coming across the space is still there.

Thats the problem i have when people say Ade created the space. The Space was already there, it ust took longer to get the ball through due to the run.
I'm watching it with the luxury of being able to pin point where the move starts, being able to pause it frame by frame and looking at all the positions taken on the field. You're looking at clips and making judgements, its totally different.

To actually say his run slows down the move is pretty incredible mate, you're wrong on this, very wrong. His run disrupts their shape and positioning at the back - its that simple. Bale's run then totally causes havoc and the space really opens up for Siggi to pick his pass.

I'll add my statistic to the mix.
In his 3 games against his ex-clubs this season Man City booked substituted, Arsenal scored sent off, Arsenal booked substituted.
I wouldn't play him against City for fear that he may be "fired up"

From what i can remember and clips i can find there was space for Bale to run into before Ade makes his run.

Ade then drags the defender into play, but he does well when he does make his run and then to what your saying.
Your memory seems a bit off ;)

Mate it's not just about the space. And Mertesacker has nothing to do with it. Bale is running into Vermaelen's side of the CBs and Adebayor's run across Vermaelen drags him away from his position leaving a gap for Bale to run into simples..

He was brilliant against City though. His hold up play was the the best i've ever seen from him. Shame is that he's never even got close to a performance that good since.

Tend to agree. Desperately hoping that a change in form is just around the corner but it doesn't look like happening. Relieved Defoe is back now and I expect him to start if this keeps up for much longer, in fact he might even come straight back into the side now at Adebayor's expense.
Yep, I've been hoping that in almost every game he's played, that this could be the time that he turns up but the performance has never been there. It's just such a shame because an Adebayor at his best with Bale behind him would be incredible, so frustrating...

The man is infuriating, he quite obviously has the talent but unlocking it and showing consistency is the hard bit. I just don't see how he can be so inconsistent, I have backed him up for ages now with my mates but it is becoming a little frustrating now the lack of goals. Lets face it he has had some great opportunities of late and seriously fluffed his lines! Tbh I think if he gets one or two the flood gates will open and he will go on a run that may help secure CL for us.
