Tottenham's forgotten man Adel Taarabt is wanted on a season-long loan by promotion hopefuls Reading.

The French-Moroccan midfielder (above) has seen a move to Spanish side Malaga collapse, but now Brendan Rodgers' Royals have asked to take him.

Spurs may let Taarabt leave as his first-team chances will be slim, even if Harry Redknapp moves out some of his current squad.

I really don't know what the situation is regarding Taarabt. My only real thought is, if he is as good as he was made out to be, surely he would have broken the first team by now and held down a place? We've heard that it's hard to get him to pass the ball, but even still, surely a top level club should have the coaching to knock that out of him?

Im not sure really. It's an odd situation that I can only see changing if he's sold. Either way, he's clearly not making any waves in top flight English football at the moment.

Very strange one, from what ive seen of him he does seem to have to raw talent just needs to learn a few things such as passing, crossing, shooting at the right times.

Love to see him given a real go even if just in the friendlies to prove what he can do. Hey, if KPB is gettin a look in surely Adel should!

See, that's a really fair point and it's the fact that he HASN'T that bewilders me. When he arrived he was touted as the next best thing to come out of Europe, yet he's still not broken the first team. With that in mind, surely there's something wrong?

why it has taken the club this long to loan out Taarabt I'll never know!

We've played a part in stopping his development, what a shame as he's got great talent

Im not sure that's true. The player has to take some level of responsibility surely?

Why do the red tops always have to have a crappy pun in the headline? Taar-get. My sides are splitting! not.

like to see him stay and given a consistent go albeit from the bench

What are you on about? He spent the whole last part of last season on loan to QPR, playing in every match, except when he got injured.

He's certainly got a great talent. He's also walking proof that great talent on its own doth not a great footballer make. You need to know how to function as part of a team. Now that he's reached the geriatric age of 20, perhaps he'll learn that. I'd certainly be much happier to see him on loan to another English side than sold to Malaga. Because, if he ever does learn that, he'll be something else.
