Is it time to starve this **** of the oxygen he so desperately desires and lock this shit?

Might be the pressure the club need I didn`t disagree with a lot of what he said today to be honest obviously somethings were over the top. Some of the FANS who called in were embarrassing though :banghead:

Summary

1. Kane has been undroppable even when not playing well.
2. Poor recent transfer windows.
3. Need TOP signings that will push us to the next level etc...
4. Don`t sell best players to rivals.
5. Horrible performance against WBA

Could a lot of this (with a few name changes) not be said about a number of teams barring perhaps City i.e. Liverpool, Arsenal, United?

Not that i'd enter the talkshite ampitheatre of red faced, infuriating debate but as you've noted - nothing here is particularly wrong it's just that they have the king of troll faced trolls, AD making out as though his insightful opinion is fact. And putting those facts across in his best 'loud wanker in a pub' persona, which gets the station plenty of bites.

FWIW:

1. Kane has been undroppable even when not playing well. Agreed - but we're not spoilt for choice up top and we don't seem to change style to suit Llorente, so we're between a rock and a hard place here - play an ineffectual striker who doesn't fit the team style, or play a top player in the hope he finds some sharpness? See Mourinho's recent comments regarding selection to see that this isn't just a Spurs problem.

2. Poor recent transfer windows. Perhaps in some areas, less so in others. Our striker situation and Sissoko buy are both indicative of not getting our primary options IMO - but again, we have less money to play with, so what do we do? Bankrupt ourselves by keeping up with the neighbours? Or take the occasional misplaced punt in the hope we do well out of it. Again see several other clubs for poor purchases. The market is very expensive for A1 talent and a lot of clubs need to compromise, sometimes it pays off (for us Sanchez, for say Liverpool, Salah) sometimes it doesn't.

3. Need TOP signings that will push us to the next level etc... Obvious to everyone. We lack a bit of class against tricky teams at times and we lack a bit of game management from either experience or talent to change our game when we flounder or go through the gears.

4. Don`t sell best players to rivals. You don't fucking say? Hard to say no when a player wants to leave (Alexi Sanchez, Walker etc.) and the club offering has a bottomless pit of money for them.

5. Horrible performance against WBA. Not that i disagree but a few teams dropped points against lower table oppo this past weekend(s), strangely it has something to do with clubs fighting for their PL existence. No easy games in the PL and less so at the end of the season IMO.

You should ring up and tell him

When a colleague i used to lift-share with used to listen to him, it was very, very tempting. He's an irritating sod and very good at drumming up outraged callers but as per the obscure War Games quote i'm about to use: the only winning move is not to play.

Great film. Noughts and crosses v nuclear war. Annoying called tic tac toe by our friends across the pond.

Dumb and dumber have gone out of their way to label us as having a small fan base and that we’re actively pursuing Claudio Ranieri.

Last week they were saying we’ve had a poor season because we’ll be finishing 1-2 places below last season... ignoring the hundreds of millions City and Manure have spent.

Pure, transparent clickbait.

I hope he shows the players some of the tripe that has been written on here all season, maybe a nice overhead projector of some of the greatest OTT quotes of the SC 2017/18 season ... Fire them up!
Is Dave Gorman a Spurs fan? There might be a found poem in the offing...

Oh and if we do have a small fanbase then what would be the point in Durham doing it?

it is called talkshite for a reason, stopped listening over 10 years ago

You have to laugh when an ex cricketer in Darren Gough says ‘it’s not my sport so I can’t really comment’ but here’s what’s wrong with Spurs...

Thing is, it's a commercial radio station and Durham has one of the prime time slots. I am quite sure that he is capable of having measured thought provoking debates on the issues of the day but they have to play to the audience. The easiest (some might call it cheapest) way of boosting or maintaining ratings is to express mock outrage that a football club has failed to achieve standards that were predetermined by Durham (probably before the start of the show) in order to whip up disgruntled fans or mock football clubs or players over some minor issue or situation that occurred over the weekend or previous night in order to wind people up.

It's not personal and he probably doesn't even always believe half of what he says but his job is to deliver the figures and if he does then it's job done.

You're right, all you have to do is look at twitter to see that the stuff he's saying is pretty common among some of the slow of thinking in our fanbase
It boils down to entitlement, a growing section of our fanbase think that the club actually owes them trophies and success, even though we may well make the top 4, again, punching above our weight with much lower resources that 4-5 other clubs
You see it on here also, admittedly not as much but there are one or two posters actually demanding that the club do better and deliver trophies, and some asking the question 'has poch taken us as far as he can?'....its just impatient, kneejerk shite.

I think our relative success over the last few years has allowed this entitlement to fester and grow, and unfortunately it'll only get worse until we win something big.
I think this could absolutely explode if we fail to make top 4 this season (*shudders).
That's (laughably imo) the bare minimum according to some on here.

More qualified than Durham who has never played any sport tbf.

Ultimately their opinion is no more valid ours and random folks at the pub. None of us have played professional sport. It's why I don't get the popularity of shite like sunday supplement. Having a broadcast or journalism certificate doesn't make you more qualified to talk about football but when you bring that up the journos get into a hissy fit.

Sometimes I can't believe that we still aren't that club that used to finish around 10th place.

Durham away from his slot is actually a sensible and decent broadcaster, good on Match days, being with Darren Gough seems to make him act like an idiot and it is pure clickbait
how Darren Gough is on the radio and giving his views on football is beyond me, the guy is unlistenable and a total moron, would be interested in the ratings, keep hoping they go down so he is binned
