So, he has very little time on his contract left. What would be accepted as a bid? £20-£25mill?

Dembele - £11mill
Jansen- £10-£15mill

Rabiot covered. Very Levy like.

The talk was that a bid of 10M would do it, but he's asking for crazy wages so we'll see.

Waiting for this thread to hit 100 pages so we know Rabiot will join on the 31st, spend a year and a half in North London, put in half a shift in training expecting Poch to just hand him consistent game time ahead of Sissoko and Winks, only have his mother go on Sky and talk about how he's now "ready" for a "bigger" club because he's "ambitious" or whatever. He 100% deserves to go the Max Meyer route and wind up at a club like Palace. It's unfortunate that he's a naturally gifted player because some team is going to be suckered into giving him a huge, long-term contract and get saddled with a locker room nightmare. Let's bring in Diawara or Zakaria and let Poch work his magic. And if the ITK and Paris United news is right that Poch is blocking other transfers to focus on already-elite players like Rabiot, let's hope he realizes he has the skill and brains to coach up younger players like Zakaria to a higher level, just like he's always done before, and get a better work ethic and team ethos in the process.

For good reason. Rabiot would most likely be the highest earner here, considering his earlier demands..
My post had a sarcastic tone in my head - I'd be 100% behind Levy. We are blessed to have a youth product who is one of the best players in the world and plays in the most expensive position. No player at the club should be earning more than him. I don't even think anyone that's not an established star player should be coming in on more than Dele and Son get now (allegedly about £150k p/w).

Other than the putting in "half a shift part" of this: 18 months from now, we sell him for £100M and reinvest in players who want to be here.

This, as much as anything, should be driving Levy to get this deal done.

We’ve been short on the moody bastard contingent since Berba left.
Hope this one happens.

Zakaria is a year younger than Rabiot and Diawara is 2. Not exactly much younger. Plus at 23, Rabiot still has room to improve as well.

in a league where the next best team would struggle to finish above 15th in our league.
You mean Lyon...the team that should have beaten City twice in the CL? Or are you referring to the team who are currently 2nd in the table, Lille, instead? I will give you a second to work through your English PL bias/ignorance of Ligue 1 to work that one out. Either way you're wrong.

Can we lay off the lazy racist and misogynistic comments about Sissoko’s sexual potency (because he happens to be black) and Rabiot’s mum being subdued by sex (because she’s a woman). She sounds like an absolute loon, agreed, but there are better jokes to make

I don't think it has anything to do with Sissoko's colour, just because he's a beast.
And I can quite easily be subdued by sex, and I'm not a woman.

You can never be sure on this forum. I agree, no one should just come in and earn more than Harry.

If it was that easy you don't think any other clubs would be interested?

Maybe, but how often are dad agents associated with an image of them being fucked by a beast?
