Its not just PSG though - he is also persona non-grata with Didier Deschamps and the French National Team.
True, although I think his basis of growing up in that crazy PSG locked room has effected him throughout. Think a great manager like Poch could bring him to Earth and force more respect. I wouldn't have concerns about Rabiot's personality if Poch signed off on the deal.

I still believe this is one of those deals we will all talk ourselves into then be mad when it doesn't happen and the truth is it was never going to happen simply because he never wanted to come to us. Happy to be wrong but we've seen this dance before.

Agreed, sadly.

Yeah, the bloke with the most chatter about his off field antics and personality recently was Aurier. Whatever peoples thoughts on him as a player, he seems very popular in the dressing room and hasn't caused any issues. I don't think Poch would turn him down for this reason. Maybe others, however I doubt we'd be top of his list anyhow.

Sad to see so many want to sign this guy knowing what a disruptive influence he is. Poch and Levy spent several years getting rid of similar types so why would we bring one in ?

I think people should stop listening to the noise. How do we know if he’s disruptive? It’s the type of thing that just snowballs and gets taken as gospel. It’s also more about the environment you’re in or get brought into that dictates how you act.

He would be a brilliant signing imo. Got everything you need as a CM and a real presence on the pitch that I think we miss without a peak Dembele.

The talk about Aurier was never about him being a right twat but rather stupid antics like Balotelli. Rabiot is, from what I can tell, seen as poison by both Deschamps and Tuchel. His statements in the media over the years somewhat strengthen the view on that.

He's an incredible player though and would be a perfect fit for us but it's almost guaranteed that he'll end up at Barca.

Not that I give a shit wether we sign him or not, but it's a safe bet Poch will have heard the rumours about his behaviour so IF we're going to sign him (and I don't think we are) then the answer to your question is because Poch doesn't think it's an issue or has spoken to him and he's willing to buy into Poch's methods.

This. I also think that every time we're linked with a player, if they've ever done something even vaguely whiffy, the holier than thou brigade come out in force and I'd bet both of my bollocks that clique consists of some of the dodgiest fuckers on the internet with things in their pasts they'd rather not have known.

It's becoming a joke, it's almost like this new fad of going back several years through a persons social media history in the hope they've done something 'wrong' when they come into the public eye. Before long the fact that he got a speeding ticket five years ago will be a reason not to want a player.

But like I said, I'm not fussed if we sign him either way, the disruptive **** :D

exactly with Loris, Lucas, Auirer and prob Sissoko im sure Poch has plenty of people to ask if his a pain in the arse, lets be honest Aurier had a bad press but tbh he seems a really good guy and fits in well with the rest of the squad.

I also don't see us signing him but let's be clear, he's mainly being called disruptive cos he's not signing a new deal and frankly that's his choice. If he doesn't believe he's being offered enough then he has every right to run down his contract - that doesn't make him disruptive.

I'd also argue that our very own Serge Aurier did FAR worse things during his time at PSG and so far he's not been a moment's trouble at Spurs, quite the opposite in fact as he appears to be well liked and is front and center in most videos on social media of our players larking about.

If we're in for a player then I trust Poch to know who he's bringing in and what kind of a man they are. Reality is though that he's gonna choose Barca over us every single time.

I'm at least glad we're trying to get players like him and moreover in that position on the field.

How about his problems with the French National Team ?
