More JJ on Rabiot:

“We would love him as Dembele’s replacement as good player and spoke etc but not much interest plus a very tricky deal to do & not like saying we want you & this is the price etc etc as so much more to it and you never get to that point”

It doesn't seem that JJ is ruling it out. He has confirmed we have an interest but it's too complicated. For that reason he doesn't think it will happen. We dont often get the difficult transfers done but you never know. If Rabiot has spoken to Poch and has thought it over he could very well make it happen. If he decides to come then things will move quickly I'm sure.

Probably get banned for this but what has JJ ever posted that has got him this reputation as flawless?
It's not what he posts about who is incoming, it's more that he says things aren't happening when we are linked to players in the media or some other ITK's. 9/10 he is right.

It’s weird because if the deal has never even been started there is a lot of info around
JJ only said it was never on. Not that we haven't tried. Being on means that things are going ahead. It sounds like it's always been a long way off.

He’s 100% the most accurate ITK. Only one who said Bale was off when the rest said he was staying. And called the Nelson/Saha transfers before anyone even knew they were under consideration.

I’ve been on this forum for over 10 years and he’s never ever got anything wrong.

And he made a positive post about transfer activity re Poch’s comments. Fingers crossed

Someone always says 'but he only ever says when stuff isn't happening' like that's a crime, when 99% of rumours are actually pure rubbish.

On Rabiot, its a shame to hear, but its actually very interesting what has been said. We've had flat no's before, but there is obviously an interest from the club.

Yes, its an incredibly optimistic stance, but I do wonder whether the player will have a sudden change of mind about his future in the coming days with the way things have panned out. It has happened before. Not necessarily to us, but I could see him suddenly shifting last second (gut says Chelsea).

In all honesty im not a big fan of trying to convince someone, who doesnt really want to join, to join... its akin to pleading and begging.

I understand you need to sell the club the dream as it were but judging this situation on the info there has been he will fucking bail and cause a stink as soon as someone comes in for him.

I would stay away I think

I get what you're saying, but even if he did do that we could almost certainly command much, much more than £20m for him if he doesn't have just six months left on his contract when he asks to leave. If we bring in him for £20m, he plays well, and we sell him for £50m down the line I won't be upset!

Thats the sensible business decision in which youre correct I guess as a fan I dont like the idea of someone just using us. I guess its where we are at at the moment a potential stepping stone for some.

From the business view point, 30 - 40m profit - brilliant.

I certainly don't like the idea of having a whole team like that. But we've got a whole lot of players including lads who've come through from the Academy who are 100% Spurs - I think it's inevitable in the modern age that you're going to have some others who don't see the club as anything more than a part of their career and I can live with that. Some of them like Assou-Ekkotto put in good performances for us at the time regardless, countless others - Bale, Modric, Berbatov - gave us magical moments before moving on. If that improves the business side and helps us as a team and a club, it only makes it more likely that we can keep ahold of the likes of Dele and Kane who've come in at a young age and love being Spurs and give them the success they need.

Fuck him, I say. I’d rather get in a Berge type signing, someone who at least would want to be here instead of thinking he’s too good for us.

The sad thing is, we won't even get one of those, either.

Anything can change in transfers, tomorrow we will be on rabiot roundabout again. Levy normally sparks into life last week of transfer window so we may get snippets of progression. Anyone can surely see this is an opportunity to get one of the best young CM's in Europe.
