Yeah I did want him but he seems a bit of a nob. We want players who’ve got each others backs.
I think that PSG locker room is a cesspool for bad personalities. I have a good feeling that if Rabiot was removed out of that environment he wouldn't cause any issues here under a manager that has complete power and a locker room with good personalities with people who are driven towards a common goal that support each other. People said all the same shit about Aurier and he has been a model citizen in his time here.

He’s total batshits though

If he was that in demand he would have signed a pre-contract with someone by now.

Has a Max Meyer feel about it...he'll probably sign for West Ham on Transfer Deadline Day.
He's an exponentially better player than Max Meyer. I'd imagine he's still asking crazy money so teams are hesitant while them comb through their other options. Like us probably prioritizing Ndombele but also hoping we could convince Rabiot to drop his price tag a bit.

That’s probably about it

Was desperate for him in January when it seemed like he was the only decently priced talented option but now that it seems like we will actually spend money on people I'm not sure he'd be one of the first names on my list.

I think he'd be my #2 remotely realistic candidate. Ndombele then Rabiot. He really is a damn good player and he'd look great in this squad.

I would not be disappointed if we got him as our main CM (unlike if we got Andre Gomez), just wouldn't be top of list. I too want Ndombele.

I'd love the guy if he wasn't such a crazy obnoxious nob and that's without Mummy in the picture. Pity as Poch would work wonders with him.

This guy is supremely talented. He may also be one of our best chances of signing someone of his class merely because some elite clubs won’t want to touch him. Maybe that’s part of Poch’s references of the need to be brave.

If he did think we were 'below' him in January, I'm hopeful that our run in Europe has changed his mind, otherwise it isn't really a goer.

Still one of those transfer stories you'd never expect from a club like Crystal Palace. Kinda-ish Tevez ans Mascherano to West Ham.

I don't doubt his quality.

It seems he has shot himself in the foot with his attitude. It appears none of the clubs that he deems to be his 'level' are interested.

The problem with a free transfer is that they usually want that added to their wages (Ramsey getting £350k apparently!), which can cause friction, especially if the player acts like a bit of a dick behind the scenes. The Pogba-effect.
This is exactly why I can't see this happening. Someone out there will probably pay him £250k a week. I can't imagine we'd offer more than £100k. Great player and I think he'd fit in well (in a footballing sense) at Spurs, but he'll be after a pay-day. I guess the only way we could offset a lower weekly wage would be with a bumper signing on fee.

He has a contract offer on the table apparently from Juventus in the region of £5.3m-a-year, which could raise to £7m related to performance-based bonuses. That’s hardly like the £175k a week he wanted from Barça.

I think we can afford that. Remains to be seen how much of a risk we see him bringing to squad harmony etc.
