This is interesting although they don't mention the source:

Adrien Silva on leaving Sporting Lisbon and Spurs' reported interest in him

"I was not in touch with anyone during the Confederations Cup. I preferred to focus completely on this event and finish it in the best way.
[On Spurs] "The best players are there [in the Premier League], and the English championship is recognised by all as one of the best.

"Let's just let things run. I have a contract with Sporting, but nothing is certain."

He's been pretty unimpressive in the Confederations Cup. From the 3 matches i've watched he isn't a step up on what we already have :meh:. It's a no from me.

Age wise makes no sense. We need to be looking for a long term successor to dembele.Which may be winks or onomah.if not we need to sign someone 26 oldest really or there's little point.Im pretty convinced at least for this season winks/onamah will share understudy role and a decision be made end of season if either or both are truly good enough.Added to that youth wise we also have Oakley-boothe and roles coming through in a year or 2 .We are pretty blessed CM wise going forward.

I do think we were a bit short in central midfield during Dembele's absence. He's such a problem for this team. Both good and bad.

30m 28y , no chance

Well he has 2 seasons worth of experience in the CL, won a Euro's and over 230 games for Sporting with about 80-90 off those appearances as captain of the team. I'm not personally for this signing but I can see why Poch would be interested. Even for four years, having that experienced head to help us can do wonders for our younger players.
