Palermo defender Simon Kjaer would welcome a move to Tottenham and other Premier League sides, according to his agent.

Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini had been quoted as saying Spurs had agreed a £28.4 million deal for Kjaer and Edinson Cavani earlier this week, but the claims were later denied by both sides.

Agent Mikkel Beck has now said that no clubs have made a firm offer for Kjaer as yet but confirmed the 21-year-old Denmark centre back would be open to a move to White Hart Lane.

"We know of a lot of interest, for sure, but we don't know of any concrete interest," Beck told Soccernet. "So far, nothing concrete has happened. We know there is a lot of interest in the European market, but we are in a situation where we have to wait and see what happens.

"Simon knows what he has at Palermo. He has three years left on his contract, and we're not just talking about any club - it's a top club in Italy. It's not one of the biggest, maybe, but he's one of the most important players and they have qualified for Europe.

"He knows what he has, but he's ready to move on if the right club makes an offer, so we're just waiting to see."

Asked if he would consider Tottenham to be the right club, Beck replied: "If they should agree a fee, of course we would. That's normal. We have still not come to the point where they have agreed a fee, so for the time being I would rather not comment on Tottenham, but England would be interesting for Simon if anyone would make a concrete offer."

Easy to say when its not your money being spent. Do you just walk down the high street on Saturdays and go 'I want it so just put it on my card'. without any though about the value your getting?

Hope he comes, also wouldn't say no to LLorento if he was available, looked quite effective when he replaced Torres.

Can someone tell me how to prounounce his sirname??

I think we're probably looking to off load Kaboul, Pav, Keano, Jenas before moving for anyone. Remember next season we are only allowed to name a total squad of 25 players.

His agent is touting his player around endlessly, as Palermo have stated, no one has tabled a bid yet, the player may well be happy where he is and his agent just using other clubs to get him a pay rise.

We pay good money for players, Hutton £9 million for example.

    Kjær/Kjaer is roughly pronounced "care".

yes, you should try it, it feels fookin ace :)

That's about right and a good example of the vowel sound, but you need to stress the [ca] and avoid dragging the sound out as you do in care - a bit like in [their].

I can see this transfer saga dragged out for a while, though.

By the way Kjær's agent, Mikkel Beck, some might remember him as Ravanelli's sidekick in the Boro team that lost two Wembley finals and were relegated the same season, is apparently somewhat dodgy in his dealings (aren't they all?). He just got his agent license back after losing it due to "double dealings". He might be up to making some money here...

On the US broadcast, they were pronouncing his name Shaar. It was bizare. I started to think they had him mixed up with the Dutch backup Stijn Schaar
