Why is this guy continuously touted as being the Newcastle manager in the near future? Yes he was a former player a excellent one, yes he is a pretty good pundit, but he has no coaching experience what so ever. Why do people think he will do any better than the other former Newcastle managers?

he may well have a keegan effect (did he have any coaching experience before the toon?) He'll certainly have the backing of 50 000 loons each week and that'll count for quite a bit i'm sure.

becomes he comes across well in his tv work, seemingly so professional and no nonsense, it would be no surprise to many..

People said the exact same when Klinsmann took the Germany job. Now he's one of the most wanted and respected coaches in world football at the moment.

Personally I don't think former footballers should be able to get a job as manager until they have got all the badges. You have to wonder if Southgate knows what he is doing up at Boro.
