Bottled 2 winnable FAC semi finals and lost a league cup final.
It's not like the opportunities haven't been there.

Poch might need to take a hard line and play a decent strength team away at Arsenal. I doubt they'll make 10 changes and risk their fans wrath for losing to us if they did.

He makes it sound easy. There’s some work to be put in before this team gets to finals, never mind taking the last step. Liverpool have been the nearly team over the last few years. We’ve had one losing final in nine years. We are not on the verge of success and to think we are is counter-productive. But we could be.

Why?

Why can't this team get to an FA Cup final but all these teams, since 1991, can;
Sunderland 1992
Sheffield Wednesday 1993
Everton 1995 - won it
Middlesbrough 1997
Villa 2000
Southampton 03
MILLWALL FFS 04
WEST FUCKING HAM 06
FFS - PORTSMOUTH AND FUCKING CARDFIFF FUCKING CITY 08
OMG - STOKE 11
Wigan - WIGAN FUCKING AFFLETIC - WON IT - 13
HULL - FUCKING HOLE - 14
The WORST Villa side in the post war era - 15
PALACE - 16
A shitty end of Wenger Era Arsenal - 14, 15, 17 - winners!

We don't have the be the Pepesque Barcelona team to win the FA Cup. We just need to stop bottling it as shit teams do better than us almost every single year.

As you can tell from my escalating use of bad language and caps, this irritates me, seeing shit like Portsmouth and Cardiff, Stoke, Hull, Wigan having cup finals and us losing so many semi finals.

A lot of those teams put everything into being in the final because it was a one off and everything else had turned to shit or stagnated. It was glory. We don’t strive for glory in the same way. We’re almost too scared to achieve because what if all the promise of the last few seasons isn’t real. As I said, counter productive. It’s clearly a psychological thing because we keep getting ourselves in a situation where we underachieve at the vital moment.

This is it. Other than the 5-1 twatting by Chelsea, we've had loads of totally winnable semi finals but just keep bottling it.

I think every time we get to one the media get on the case and the team just goes to utter shit. We've got to the semi's relatively easy enough time. It's not that much effort. We've often/always been out of Europe by then too.

For many of the years we’ve been unable to win any big games. Now we have a few big wins under our belt we should finally put this to bed. But you only get one shot a year, if that. High stakes.

Portsmouth wasn't a big game, that should have been so routine. We were so much better than them (and a lot of teams) that season.
Last season against United in what was effectively a home game, playing at a time when we were in better form than them and had absolutely murdered them fairly recently.
Poch doesn't help though. I know he probably tells fringe players at the start of the season that they'll get cup games, but when it gets to the semi he needs to go strong. I can't accept getting beat because we had Vorm in goal doing the square route of fuck all. That annoys me. Can you tell I'm irritated lol?

Any semi for us is a big game. And the Pompey one had that shitty pitch, that still pisses me off. Agree that come the semi final stage we should show 100% focus and go all out to win. It’s the monkey on our backs and I want to throttle the little fucker!

Irritated? Can’t imagine how that could feel...

A stable and harmonious squad is a major step in the right direction. Having players haggling over contracts, looking at the exit door and generally not being 100% committed and focussed doesn't help one single bit. No names mentioned though, Toby.

Enjoy the journey.

Re-sign Toby or resign.
