I like @max cady post but man, how could you leave out Garrincha ?! He invented a new form of how to play the game, was as much an influence on those Brazil teams as Pele was, brought home a World Cup single handedly with Pele absent and did it all with crooked legs and being an alcy. Garrincha is my personal choice as greatest player of all time.

It's all subjective of course, but I feel your post was almost almost perfect, just wish you'd included him.

Didn't Van Nistlerooy break all of their European goal records? Definitely a world class player in my opinion, an absolute goal machine.

Amazed he hasn't mention Vidic too

I'd definitely have Bryan Robson in the World Class bracket.. One of the greatest midfielders to have played in the old first division,

In my opinion, Alex had lost the plot if he thinks he worked with only 4 world class players and even more so if he includes cantona, while a brilliant player he's not even close to messi and ronaldo.

When all is said and done, messi and ronaldo will be on the same level as maradona and pelle, those types of players don't come around very often.

He fell out with Van Nistelrooy though so he was never going to mention him as being world class
