PRITCHARD LOAN TO POSH

Posted 31 January 2013 5:17pm
Alex Pritchard has joined Championship team Peterborough United on loan until the end of the season.
The midfielder has made nine appearances for our Under-21 side this season, scoring four goals, as well as scoring four goals in four games to help our Under-19s reach the last 16 of the NextGen Series

Hopefully, as our other loan players, he will improve and impress so that he can fight in the sommer for a place in the first team squad maybe.

It should be mentioned that he signed a new 2 1/2 year deal with us.

Couple of fan comments on the signing

Sounds like an exciting young talent. Hopefully make the same impact Thorne did.
Could just be that missing link. He was previously wanted by Liverpool and is out of contract this year.
Hopefully he'll go straight in the team for Saturday.
Just a thought, I hope he's better than the last winger we signed from Spurs on loan, although he could hardly be worse.
A work colleague who is an avid Spurs fan and forum moderator for them has only positive things to say about Pritchard, so hopefully he will be a good addition. Apparently Spurs rate him highly and one for their future...

Big big hopes for him, hope he gets a bit of playing time alright, especially with Posh in a relegation fight.

Big test for a young player.

I really looking forward to seeing this kid getting some league experience. Many of our youngsters have wilted on loan but the ones who have shone have been given a chance in the first team squad re:Caulker and to a lesser extent Walker.

Maybe an obvious one that I just can't think of, who is this other player who signed on loan for Peterborough and was crap?

They were 1-0 down before he came on and now are 2-1 up. Don't know if he was involved in the goals though.

A few comments off various threads on Peterborough boards so far - nothing negative. All comments positive (amidst negativity by Posh fans about their being bottom o0f the table) , typical comments :

'Thought he looked pretty good coming off the bench in difficult circumstances today. Confident on the ball, got stuck in and played a few good passes. Did everything that Petrucci hasn't. He is tiny though! Hopefully more good performances to come.'

'Very small but looks a good prospect. Did more in his first 10 mins than Newell did in all the time he was on the pitch. One has a lot of potential............'

@WindyCOYS Everybody very impressed with Pritchard today. Changed the game when he came on. Looks a really bright player. Exciting prospect.
