The obvious reason is that Pritchard's delivery from set pieces is first class.

Well no harm in that I suppose.

Plus he'll get to actually play in the Premier League for the first time which will give him valuable experience.

Just hope Pulis doesn't turn him into Charlie Adam.

You mean keep him and then he hardly gets any games at all. He needs to play as many games as possible between now and the end of the season. He isn't going to get more than a handful of games at best for Spurs this season.

I'd rather send him to a team that plays football.

Sky saying WBA want to get it done by noon so he is eligible to play Swansea this week, they do know he 's injured surely.
I still can't see this without someone coming the other way, I still don't believe it.

ITK leads us to believe that Levy won't deal with Peace and vice versa due to Saido etc. why would we loan them a player unless something has occurred to calm the tension etc. between the two.

I wouldn't be sending them anybody, rather he went to championship than west brom

Some conflicting stories on here regarding his injury status - i was under the impression he's recovered and training again, but because he's way down the pecking order at Spurs, he's unlikely to get a game.

If a loan deal at West Brom means getting to see him play in the PL, then so be it!

Truth be told, no real space for emotions in business - Levy and Peace might not be besties, but they'll know a deal when it comes around!

Pritchard plays the position that Berahino is played in by Pulis, surely this would make a deal possible. Strange that none of the outlets reporting this have linked them,

If Pritchard goes there and plays week in week out then I dont think its that bad a deal! At the moment he is lacking match fitness and will struggle to get into our team on a regular basis right now with Chadli coming back in & Mason also coming back into contention.

5 months of solid first team football in the Prem will be good for his development!

To be fair he's only there for 4 months, would be nice to let him play at a team like Swansea but playing for a side who play different to us for a few.months, I don't see it harming his football education that much.

DONE DEAL! The first transfer on #DeadlineDay - West Brom sign Alex Pritchard from Spurs.
Intriguing.

I'd be surprised if this has anything to do with a potential Berahino deal (in the same way the Fazio transfer to WBA appeared to be unrelated)

However it's an odd loan - I wouldn't have thought Pritchard would thrive in the sort of football played by WBA.

But you never know - he could certainly replace Berahino as a wide player giving them options...

It's probably a good idea he gets a loan move, realistically he would be 6th or 7th in line for a starting spot and Poch never changes all his AM's for mid week games. Better he gets game time in the PL in order to get fit and ready for next season.

I'm looking forward to him getting some high level game time. Should see plenty of the ball in a side like that as one of their only creative outlets.

My "adopted son" ending up at a Pulis side? say it ain't so..

I suppose it's premiership experience - would probably have preferred to see what he could do coming off the bench - oh well..

I wonder how much their fans know about him. They probably don't realise they're getting a real player.

Pritchard is a real prospect and, if we weren't stacked for AMs, would probably be in our first team already, but I reckon he does need to get a little faster, stronger and fitter. Lose a couple of kilos of fat, put on a kilo or two of muscle and most importantly work on his game specific cardio. West Brom (providing he plays) is probably a good place to do this.

So, he doesn't have to do much. He just needs to be given a full body transplant & get on a treadmill :cautious:

No need for a full body transplant or to get on a treadmill, actually. Some of those physical changes will happen naturally as he gets more top flight experience, but I reckon a little more focus on them is required as well, particularly to break into a Pochettino team.
