Not funny really. Out of the top 6 and everton i believe every club has been relegated in the last 10 years? There is a good chance that they could get relegated this season too so it's doubtful any other club in the prem but those 7 will spend £40m on a player for fear of doing a villa.

He’s not at our level. It’s fairly obvious from a few viewings the guy just isn’t where he needs to be for us

I think he's a decent defender and may be a good signing for West Ham, but he certainly wouldn't improve us.

I think there is promise there but I would agree he certainly wouldn't walk straight in and start

Apparently, he's going to Fulham for £20 million. That's a way better price than the £50 million we were quoted for him last year. I hope we're keeping an eye on this deal. Would add to our HG list and can play the LCB. If we're selling Toby our depth would be Vert, Mawson, Sanchez, Foyth, CCV , Dier.

That deal was strange, from rumors of Barca to Fulham the next year. Really bizarre, I'm glad we stayed away with his medical conditions. I guess Fulham were just willing to take the risk.

I actually think he'd be a decent shout as Toby replacement, should we push through a Toby/Martial swap. Sanchez had already taken over the frontline role, so we need some quality backup. Homegrown, prem proven, and crucially a LCB, given Jan has a few more years on the clock than Sanchez. We have Foyth and CCV covering RCB behind Sanchez. For £20m he'd be an astute bit of business.

You're right, you said recruiting. Take the Fulham connection out of the equation and what we'd have is another potential signing from Swansea. We've had quite some success with buying players from Swansea. The main standouts being Vorm and Davies, who have been vital for us. Mawson could do the same. At the quoted price, we'd be silly not to try our hand.
