I've didn't renew my BT Sport subscription, I now watch it via my EE sim only deal. The Chromecast update is very timely.

I'll probably sign up to this new venture but they better support Chromecast.

Oh wait i forgot BT Sports have the Champions League, motherfuckers!

I'll still cancel though I think, will just mean I'll have to stream our CL games too.

Whaaa, that's crazy. BT Sports also lost the UFC to Eleven Sport and Sky lost the tennis to Amazon Prime, everything is just being split across multiple services unfortunately. If you're a multiple sports fan depending on what they are you're having to pay for 4 or so subscriptions. Fucking annoying.

I might cancel BT Sports now too, as I'll only be paying for the odd PL games and the streaming service I use to watch all the Spurs game shows BT sports anyway.
Yeah it's crazy. I only half watch the NBA so it's not enough to keep me. Loved having Seria A on it. As you say, the CL gets streamed everywhere so no issues getting that. I'm tempted to get Eleven but I'm put off by no channel and having to run it off a laptop or something.

Yeah I'm thinking there's not enough for me to warrant keeping it either. I was looking forward to Seria A next season too and with Ronaldo now there they probably missed a chance to rack up additional viewers. I was going to get Eleven sports but now that you've informed be there's no channel I'm not sure there's much point. I want it mainly for the UFC but on BT Sports I never watched it live as I'd always record in and I guess I wouldn't be able to do that.

Germany's had an online streaming service for a couple of years called DAZN which is basically Netflix for sport. They do six live Premier League games every weekend and similar for all the main European leagues. They're bringing Champions League on this season and showing a lot of live games although it's a shared deal with Sky so presumably some games will be Sky-only.

Beyond football, they have golf, WTA tour, NBA, baseball, NFL, rugby and they're moving into American boxing in a big way too. My interest in sport doesn't go much beyond football but it's impressive how much they've put together on one service and it's premium level stuff too - not show-jumping and pool.

The weird thing is it's a UK company (Perform Group, I think backed by some Russian oligarch's cash) but it's only available in Germany/Austria, Japan and Canada. Not sure why it's so limited or why those particular countries and not others but presumably they'll be looking to expand.

And the cost? €9.99/month.

Yeah, it really sucks. I love watching Seria A, it’s my second favourite league and this season is gearing up to be a treat. Eleven are only just setting up in the UK and haven’t officially announced how they will show what they got but all the press releases talk about online streaming with some games being shown on Facebook. I have no problem streaming but like you I often record games I can’t watch and also it’s a hassle to have to run anything through an app or via a laptop. At this point it’s only CL that I would watch with any real interest. And haven’t they increased the price of BT sport as well?

Yeah absolutely, is why I pay premium for Sky and BT Sports initially in the first place. I've always been able to stream what I watch, but like being able to record for one but primarily just for the ease of flicking onto the channel and having no possible chance of any lag or delays.

Damn I do love recording our games and looking back on them though, including the CL ones :(

Probably because the rights to PL/CL are available and affordable for them to buy in those countries, not much in the way of competition.
The big firms have it all sewn up, NBC/Fox in the states, Sky/BT/Amazon over here...fucking huge companies, generally speaking.

The next posts that I have to delete because of dodgy streams being passed around will result in bans.

Don't ask for streams and the 'clever' workarounds don't cut it either.

Thanks
