I can see where your original post was coming from BBlG, and I also do not want Bellamy.
I think you got your wording wrong though and veiled threats to the manager will not win any favours or get the letter taken seriously.

Bellamy is not just a complete idiot, he is an average goal scorer at best and seems to be getting injuries at an increasing rate. His best asset as you say is his pace and that is also one the wane. He will not get any better so we would be buying a player in decline and at a price well in excess of what he is worth. The guys is just not a 'Spurs' player.

I'd also ask Harry and Levy not to do the deal. Unfortunately I don't think they will listen. I can't see any good coming of it though to be honest.

Yes, having calmed down, I appreciate that my tone and layout were all wrong and make me seem like the raving lunatic I had hoped not to be.

However, I am pleased that at least you and the odd other member understands why I did it, even if I did it in the wrong way.

Also, to those who say that Bellamy may be an arsehole but he's a proven premier league striker, and that is something we need, some facts, if you please:

In one season with coventry he scored 6 league goals. In 93 league games over 3 and a half seasons with Newcastle, he scored a measly 28 goals,i.e less than 1 in 3, or, if you will, less than ten a season.

He then had half a season in scotland, during which, for celtic, he scored 7 goals in 12 games. Just to pummel home how much that is a lack of an acheivement, Samaras has scored 10 in 13 for Celtris (I actually don't mind Samaras) this season in the league, which is two more than he scored in 55 Premier League games for Manchester City.

Bellamy then moved to Blackburn. At Blackburn, he spent one season, in which he scored a respectable 13 league goals in 27 league games. QUite a good ratio. One good season so far then.

After this, he went on his mersey trip, playing 27 league games for Liverpool in one season and bagging 7 league goals.

So far in a season and a half for West Ham, he has played 24 league games, scoring 8 league goals, 4 of which have come this season, 2 of which have come today.

Please explain where amongst those cold hard facts it shows that Bellamy has ever proven himself in the premier league? Seriously, I beg of you, show me.

bellamy is not just a striker - hes a wide player who stretches defences like lennon

i wouldn't be surprised if bellamy has matched or bettered lennons goals/assists tally over this season last 2 years etc etc

i think bellamy would give us more on the left than bentley ATM

i would still want a big/strong striker plus CB

i see him more as a lm/striker

i want ohara in instead of bentley but our squad needs strenghtening

whether that includes CB i leave to harry and DL

The post itself was terrible - the worst part was the follow ups "I am so intelligent, I know more than ex pros" etc. You are a kid who enjoys playing watching and talking about football, with an opinion that nobody really respects, or you would be working in the industry.

On the plus side, I've just finished reading the Henry Root letters and this has given me inspiration for a follow up.

I'm loving your bravado Le Gin, but I suggest you save a few of these posts of yours to your hard-drive to look back on when you're a bit older.

(Btw, I'm sure you're very bright, but let others comment on it, when you blow your own trumpet too loud it tells a story opposite to the one you claim ;))

yes i see the ridicule I have brought upon myself with such posts, those are a point of regret, but unfortunately I went on the defensive way too easily here and did not roll with the punches.

my mistake, live and learn

The follow ups were regretfully defensive and betrayed some insecurity and a lot of arrogance. However, I fail to see why being an ex pro qualifies any opinion above that of the normal football obsessive. I've spent many hours around many dinner tables with many ex pro's, mainly of our own club but some from other London sides as well, and the majority of them know as much about football as I do about how to go about removing a tumour from a kitten using only a water balloon.

Well for a start ex pro's will have 23 years of training in the game, working alongside people who really do understand the game. I'm not saying your wrong, just that your opinion is as worthless.

For example, Bentley has played for England under 21's, has senior England caps, and plays regular football in the best league in the world - yet people say he is a rubbish footballer (!)

It's just an opinion though, so people discuss that opinion and see the players performances through the perspective that they have created - which explains why some players remain despised despite their performances.

My opinion is that Bellamy is a significant improvement on Campell, Pav & Bent, so go for it as long as it fits the budget.

Anyway, I would like to apologise to the entire site. I have been childish, arrogant, patronising, unpleasant, and basically, a complete shit.

I have surrounded myself with an impenetrable air of disdain, abandoned the very ideals which I constantly preach on this site to others when I take issue with what has been said, and made something of a tit out of myself.

There are certain members who I more often than not agree with, or at least there is a mutual enjoyment of one anothers debate, and I have alienated them completely with behaviour that I am quite embarrassed about.

I have made stupid comment upon stupid comment, blinded by the walls of the hole I had dug myself into, and I have spoken out of turn constantly.

I cannot explain why I became so defensive, I am not sure why I decided to undermine several years of trying to integrate into the community that is this site, but I have done it and I regret it.

In a word, Sorry.

Young man ,modesty is one of the basic requirements for people who want to succeed in life ,never resort to self-aggrandizement and don't take on a whole community ,as this is very foolhardy.I trust that many on this forum are big achievers in life and business and are a credit to their communities ,so please don't dismiss them so lightly.I wish you success in college and in your tests and i like many of your contributons on this forum, but please don't alienate your elders and have more respect to others who might differ with you .

you won't be surprised to know I am guilty of occasionally succumbing to something of a persecution complex. I lose it a bit when it rears it's head.

Like I said, apologies to all round, especially to a few select members who have more often than not supported my views and arguments on this site, who I hope I have not completely alienated with regard to future conduct.

Apology accepted. Move on and rebuild your reputation. Your passion was your undoing and is your strength. If anyone else can claim such a consistently positive, well argued and knowledgeable contribution to this site I have yet to read them. Apart from mine of course.

FWIW, I didn't think what you wrote was all that bad. The only thing is that you can't give HR any crap, or he'll just walk and leave us well and truly in the shit. So I think that the threats to hound HR were probably a poor choice of words. We got him, because we need him, as he's one of the few people experienced enough and equipped enough to keep us up. I dread to think though if the fans turn on him and give him stick, he'll slide back to Sandbanks and see out his days playing golf while we trying to get ourselves promoted back into the Premiership with a fraction of our current, decent squad.

Whilst I agree with your opinion of the odious Bellamy, I can't agree with the tone of your letter.

First, you are reacting to a rumour. I understand that it is not a particularly palatable one, but a rumour nonetheless.

Secondly, you threaten the manager - on behalf of all fans, no less - with being hounded out of the club. You do not even give the Chairman or Manager the courtesy of addressing them as 'Mr'. Your arrogance is breathtaking.

If I was Daniel Levy or Harry Redknapp reading this I would, indeed, treat it as the ranting of an extremist. You do yourself no credit, sir.

Wonderful riposte to a pernicious, ugly rant. Anyone with extreme views has no place in society or SC

We all learn by our mistakes (if we have a spark of intelligence and a conscience) and you seem to have learned something valuable from this particular lesson - that you can voice your opinions freely here but not on behalf of others, who may have widely differing points of view.

Put it down to the folly of youth and move on. Look forward to reading your future, more sensible and modest, posts. Happy New Year to you.

respect to you BBLG :)

but as has been noted we are in a very fragile situation

harry and the team desperately need our support

if we get relegated HR will walk away a multi-millionaire

we will have to live with the championship

ok worse things have happened but i'd rather this one didn't
