Hope you just take a break and rejoin us at a later date mate. Supporting spurs can be a frustrating business but once you have the itch is hard to get rid of it.

Just remember, it's never the players or the manager or any of the current staff that are really what spurs is. It's the fans.

Im feeling jealous. Man u already had van persie, before this year adding Mata DiMaria and my favourite (until now) world striker falcao. Chelsea and city again got whoever they wanted and even arsenal have added one of the best in Sanchez to ozil cazorla Ramsey. We got stromboli eh who? Just remember the ridiculously good players these teams have been able to pick up when some of you expect us to be competing for 4th. If we get it we've over achieved, if we don't then we can't complain too much.
Let us hope we over achieve.
Wingeing like that is pathetic though. We don't want to see the club massively in debt and in big trouble. Maybe the new stadium will help us compete to get such a kind of player. Don't give up ffs.

anyone fancy going back to the dark days of the nineties? near bankruptcy? or prefer a club that has a net spend of <£25m in the last 5 years and financially stable.

I started supporting Spurs in 1987 and have experienced just two trophies and a lot of dark years. could have easily switched to united or chelsea or whoever cos i was only 7.

If you cant see now what Levy has done then you must have loved the days of signing Paolo Trammezani, Nicola Berti, Gary Doherty, Sergei Rebrov etc. Our transfer policy, even though it doesnt seem it, is actually helping us. We can sell players on because we are signing good enough players.

Levy is learning as a chairman. He makes mistakes. But never in such a small space of time did we have the talents of Robbie Keane, Berbatov, Bale, Defoe, Carrick, VDV, Adebayor, Soldado, Eriksen, Vertonghen, Lloris, and Modric. Fcuk me i remember signing Leonhardsen, Perry, Rosenthal and Dominguez.

We need to trim our squad down. There are too many players at WHL. The best managers want 2 for each position. Id rather we dont buy just anyone, but actually stick to the managers agreed targets. Nobody could have predicted the raid on Southampton for anything of value, otherwise we would have got MS.

Levy is taking us in the right direction, and all with one of the smallest stadiums in the top 10. regularly in the top20 richest clubs with a small stadium and without CL football. But he does make mistakes.

As for faking interest in the stadium...anyone want to guess the cost of drawing up plans for a stadium and buying up the land around WHL? Much cheaper to say the space too small so still looking for another space. That costs zero. We are in a financial climate that stiffles these kinds of developments so Levy has to make sure we get the right funds. Net spend of £20m helps that.

I'll continue to support our mighty Spurs and our bald money pinching chairman because he has taken us from celebrating signing the dross of the nineties to being upset we not signing the top players.

That was a good post and although I don't agree with all of it I do fear that Levy is only interested in making money when he buys these "up and coming" stars.

As much as I hate negativity it's hard to argue. Don't get me wrong I liked what Levy did we had some amazing times under his stewardship, seen some brilliant players and consistently have been in the top 6. The year we got shafted by England and Chelsea we looked at one point title challengers. But if you look at the points made, RE the stadium, our net spends over the last few windows, it's hard to disagree that we are being run as a business that's about to be sold.

Maybe I'm just depressed over the last 5/6 Windows my favourite players always leave :'(

I'll never take a break from spurs. But I while heartedly agree that levy/Lewis are just milking the club.

I'll forgive them if they use that money to build the stadium but for me, all I can see is negative net spends every year yet increasing income from tv revenue, increased ticket prices, record sponsorship deals, New markets abroad etc etc etc.

I've said before I'd be astonished if work begins on a stadium whilst ENIC are in control and I stand by that.

But we are a business. IF we were regularly having £20m losses would Tottenham Hotspur be alive today? That would be £100m losses. No way our stadium could cover that. Otherwise we would have to sell all our players every season.

Our club still has a soul. Its not backed by oil money or some rich mans play toy. Dont get me wrong, i will happily take it we get to win trophies. But right now i would rather our club never go backwards to the nineties.

Also dont underestimate the cost to buy back the shares, no matter how low they were, to make us private again. Now we can do our business privately and not worry about approvals to spend £400m on a stadium.

Levy has certainly footdragged on the stadium, we should have gone ahead with the 44k expansion already approved if we'd have known it'd have taken this long, but i don't think he's faking it - the stadium will come. Yes, we haven't splashed out but this was a sensible window where we did some good deals and re-balanced the squad. We also lost no-one we didn't want to lose.
ENIC are certainly milking the club, but so are the owner of the other big EPL clubs - the best response is not to fall for it. You don't have to buy 3 (or even 1) new shirts every season, or get SkySports and/or BT Sports, or continuously lay bets on your own team whatever the opponent in order to be a supporter, everyone can follow in their own way in accordance with their own means.

It doesn't have a soul at all.
It's a rigid money making mule.

Name a top division club that isnt? Just because we sell higher value than other clubs, doesnt mean other clubs dont do the same on a smaller or larger value level.

Even Chelsea are trying to balance the books a lil better now.

I'm not asking us to make a loss. I'm asking us to spend some of our ever increasing revenue.
Even wet sham, palace and stoke do that.
Christ, look at Hull ffs, they had a tremendous window for such a tiny club!

We spent £100m on players last year. Levy could have kept the Bale money and spent half, but he spent the whole lot. In my opinion we have made five good signings this window in defensive positions which is something we had to do. Now Pochettino has to work hard on getting the best out of Townsend, Chadli, Lamela and Soldado who all have ability. That is what is he is getting paid for.

I believe Levy wants the best for the club and he knows the new stadium is the key to that with FFP coming in.

If we had beat Liverpool on Sunday this post would probably not be here.

He doesn't WANT top 4? I'm sure he does, he just doesn't have the budget to buy us into it.

It's not rocket science. Who out of Chelsea, City, United or Arsenal could we trump to the top 4, and how much money would it take to achieve it? WE DON'T HAVE THE MONEY!!!!

One less moany bastard on the forum. A lot of these "Fans" need to go back and watch videos of the 90's and early 2000's before MJ took over. We were rubbish a lot of the time and had a team of Tremazani's, Calderwells, Nethercotts, Dozells, Vega's etc. We were terrible, finishing in the top 8 was a big achievement and European football was something you watched Man UTD and Arsenal play in a chunky backed TV. To my mind its only under the current ownership that we've kicked on and been consistent in any way shape or form. We've not Yoyo'd we've kept a strong consistent squad and had some very good players both past and present.

Unfortunately not everyone has seen us when we were pony and sponsored by them and not everyone remembers what European exile is like.

Please show some restraint and calm down.
