what?! why are the club getting punished, I'm sure the fans are the ones to get blamed (not all the fans of course!)

As I posted on here the other week, I just couldn't see Anderlecht getting expelled before the end of the group stage - it would have caused chaos

here's hoping we can top the group now

Why shouldn't the club get punished. We have some slightly unforgettable precedent here...........the whole of English football was punished for years after Hysel and 99.9% of them weren't even playing

:evil::evil::evil::evil:

And 20k is ridiculous. Hardly going to encourage the club to do something about it

but what can a club do about a bunch of idiots, apart from up security, (which would cost the club a lot in the first place), but I would much prefer them to hold their next match behind closed doors (which would make them loose money anyway), and BTW 20k is a lot bigger in football over their then it is here.

Whilst chucking lighters at opposition players is pretty deplorable it pales into insignificance besides the Feyenoord hardcore's behaviour at Nancy last year—hundreds of seats ripped out and thrown on the pitch, barriers broken down, the Frog riot police going in with batons, dogs and tear gas… There, the club had to shoulder a big share of the blame because it clearly wasn't a handful of idiots, but the majority of the travelling fans. Possibly the fine should have been heftier, or Anderlecht should have been made to play their next home game behind closed doors, but booting them out would have been excessive.

I wonder what the punishment would have been if this had happened at The Lane? A lot more I'm sure.

If the anderlecht fans had done this at the lane the punishment would have been a lot worse - thier body parts would have been keeping the kebab shops on the high road in meat for ages.
