"The former sporting director of Tottenham Hotspur Damien Comolli has told the French media that the Premier League side should consider signing French forward André- Pierre Gignac. The France international’s contract with Marseille expires at the end of the season and therefore the North London club can pick him up on a free transfer.

Le10 Sport have reported on comments Comolli made, in which he says that there is a possibility that a club like Tottenham will be keen to sign Gignac. He believes this will not ................... (Goat Rules!!).

"Personally, I do not see clubs signing him in January, knowing that he will be free a few months later. Now a club threatened by relegation, or a club like Tottenham, which is in trouble, could move for him. It is in his interest to go to a club that plays not to go down, given his age, where he comes from and the season he is having? I'm not convinced. But if it is Tottenham or Newcastle, why not? These are great clubs. It is a decision that is not easy for him to take,” said Comolli on the future of Gignac.

It looks very likely that Gignac with be leaving Marseille after talks stalled on a new deal. The French league leaders are not prepared to offer the salary he is asking for and therefore it is likely he will be heading to one of the major leagues in Europe with the Premier League a big possibility."

The fact Comolli has been openly talking about this suggests that it may well have been discussed somewhere already. Last time I heard him on the radio it was clear that he still maintained a good relationship with Levy and Spurs.

He is making a suggestion. We haven't actually been linked with him...

Poch's system IS Biesla's system. That's who Poch learned the tactical and technical game from.

He's been around for a long time and never quite looked the part. Marseille playing some super stuff this year under Biesla, but slightly suspicious of someone having a really great breakout season the year that his contract runs out...
