I'd absolutely welcome him on loan. We need backup for Dembele and Eriksen and with the Barkley deal seemingly on hold due to his injury I'm not sure we'll get anyone in on a permanent deal to cover for those positions

A loan would buy us time to bring Onomah back from Villa and possibly get Barkley either at a reduced price in January or for free next summer.

The fact he appears surplus to requirements at Barcelona due to the fact they've signed Paulinho doesn't fill me with hope.
New manager new ideas?

Still not sure how much traction this has, be an interesting 24hrs whatever occurs.

Why is everyone so down on this? He was deemed good enough to be included on Portugal's Euro winning squad, and then like many talented players before him struggled to adapt in his first year at one of the world's biggest (and most pressure-packed) clubs.

A loan deal to cover two positions where we are short of depth while the dust settles on a permanent fix for the problem (Onomah proving himself at Villa, Barkley getting fit enough to play, Lamela's possible return) makes perfect sense.

Are the people against this signing saying this because of his spell at Barca? Pretty sure he was great at Valencia. Loads of players have failed at the superclubs but do very well elsewhere.

Looks good to me - maybe not the dazzling attacker we all want but together with Barkley, he'd do.

PS. My first ever post - hi everyone!
