Gomes (on loan) seems ok to me.

Another body in our midfield while Alli is suspended in Europe and we wait for Barkley to recover.

These are the sort of players we need to be looking at loan with option to buy or out right please LEVY.

Sweet passing range with his left and right two footed player preferably left i believe

Surely winks can play his part? We should be spending money on an Eriksen back up/ and wide / forward player to push on the team. Think he looked good for Valencia where he probably played most games. But given sporadic chances like Barca his confidence looked shot. He certainly isn't gonna replace dembele or vic. So games again could be a minimum.

I would class him as an Eriksen type player but on his left foot. good rotation for Lamela Alli Eriksen

Gomes Alli Eriksen so much intelligence

the last player we got from one of the Spanish giants on deadline day turned out pretty well for us.

Don't forget Barkley as well ;)

Seriously if we get Barkley and Gomes, our midfield looks sorted (as well as our defence).

Just need to look at our attack now.

Totally agree. I feel it's about retaining a CL spot for new ground; plus, having been at Barca means he'd bring winner mentality and some silky skills - imagine him in our midfield with Dele, et al

Haven't seen anything of him really but just had a look at some Valencia stuff and he totally reminds me of Guti in playing style. Obviously he is not quick but he seems strong on the ball, has good vision and the ability to create things.

Pace of course helps but is not mandatory in order to succeed in the PL. If he has the brain, then he has the brain and could be a good player in this league.
That Valencia clip makes him look more like dele than anyone else mentioned so far.

The Barca supporters seem to be talking about him as if we were trying to sign Tom Cleverly.

They seem mystified as to why we would want him.

On the other hand they signed Paulinho

Has to be a loan with option to buy if anything! Can't see us agreeing to anything different.

Theres no doubt he has a wand of a left foot, looks like he has lost his confidence a bit though.

Andre Gomes to Spurs?

Tottenham Hotspur are closing in on the loan signing of midfielder Andre Gomes from Barcelona.

There is growing confidence at Spurs that they will beat West Ham United to the season-long loan signature of Gomes today, following more talks.

Gomes only joined Barcelona from Valencia last summer, but has suffered a difficult time at the Nou Camp and wants to play regular football. Prior to his switch to Barca, Gomes was rated as one of the best midfield prospects in Europe which is why Tottenham are keen to try to kick-start his career.

West Ham have not given up on Gomes yet, but privately believe he is likely to join their London rivals.
