Sounds like a perfect Dembele replacement then

Tackle, really?!?!

If you have the ball and dembele is within 5 metres, in the blink of an eye, he has the ball and you hurt all over... Doesn't slide in much, granted - but that guy wins so much ball its offensive!

Apparently a Tier 1 source for Barca... Arsenal negotiating for Andre Gomes but they won't agree to the 30mil valuation Barca have on the player. Arsenal want a loan with an option to buy.

Maybe we actually do have a better midfielder in play? Optimistic I'm sure.
I wonder if the Arsenal fans are up and shouting "just pay the bloody money and get him in, God why does everthing have to take so long"?

With things at this late stage I wouldn't be surprised to see Eriksen & Grealish pivot in a CM/AM role. We'll have more going forward but it definitely leaves us a little more exposed when winning then all back. I'd have Gomes I think there's a lot more in him that if we can inlock would see him become a far better performer than he seems to have been at Barca. We shall we what happens with our CM I guess

I doubt it, they've signed several players and moved several players on. Activities traditionally associated with a transfer window :D

They also shifted an unwelcome pensioner who’s been hanging round stinking of photocopier toner and piss for god knows what reason for the best part of 10 years, which must be a relief.

Regarding the arsenal thing, eh. I still predict we’ll get Gomes and Pulisic(along with Grealish) this window. Just my opinion.

Not a home run window. Solid double, though.

I'd say landing pulisic and Grealish on their own would be good enough for a triple, however throwing gomes in there is like that little hesitation you'd get while rounding second and deciding "can I make this?" and then either getting thrown out at third because of said hesitation or going back to second base disappointed with yourself

Grealish, Gomes and Zaha by my reckoning. I'd take that as a decent window.
Grealish (apparently) almost done.
Gomes quite clearly available.
Zaha now (apparently) handed in a transfer request.
Maybe a CB to replace Toby, but I wouldn't rule out Dier being handed that task instead of the right player doesn't become available.
FWIW, I actually think Gomes could prove to be a tidy addition, has the physical presence to survive PL, and will likely want to prove he's better than his Barca spell suggests. Natural LCM in a 433, works for me. Eriksen and Gomes either side of Dier or Wanyama, providing creativity.

I really genuinely admire your optimism. Fair play to you for it.

Unfortunately I am extremely pessimistic about how this window plays out, I fear moved goalposts when it closes.
