Just out of interest, is Mendes his agent? The link to Wolves aswell might suggest that - is Mendes not on a shit list of agents Spurs won't deal with?

There does seem to be a revolutionary process going on with our midfield now and it looks like we want a variation of options. - Herc kinda mentioned this with his formation ITK.
I'm not totally against this signing as I do think against the bus parkers we do need a deep lying playmaker rather than someone who can run with the ball alongside a DM. It may be better to have a combative midfielder alongside a deep lying playmaker with Eriksen further forward. So the links are making sense ------- Barrios >>>Gomes>>>Eriksen.
We've been told that we have to get creative with some of our signings so if a Martial is going to cost 50+ and De Ligt being expensive too, then I can see a couple of midfielders coming in for lower fees.
Of course the concern is whether or not Gomes can return to the player with early promise and develop into the player Barca had hoped he would. But if he can then it would be great for us. Technically he is fantastic and it makes sense that we are monitoring him.

Grealish would be a better CM option than him to be completely honest. Not picking on you Trix but Gomes is a player who dramatically outperformed for about a year on and got his big transfer and then flopped as most expected him too. He would replace Sissoko (assuming praying, Sissoko leaves) and while different would at best offer the same or just sliiiightly better output than him.
