I am really sorry, but I can't remember us playing any good since he is here. Now we have as excuse a lot of new players who have to settle. AVB takes the confidence out of Lamela and Chad by not picking them. His team selection isn't that bad. He rewards good efforts in the cups and Europa League with league appearances.

But the whole season we create nearly nothing. And last season it was nearly the same. We grabbed up a lot of dirty wins which is good for mentality but you can't get lucky every time.

Yes stats says we have a lot of shots on goal. But hell a lot of useless 30 metres wonder shots.

I feel sorry for some players like Soldado.

I think we have the players to feed him and to create, but we don't do it because of lack of movement.

For now there isn't a reason to think of sacking AVB because we are fourth with good 19 points after 9 games.... but we look so clueless it hurts at times...

Not a fan of our recent style of play but complaining about a manager who has us at fourth? Did someone say knee-jerk.

At end of last season I said Im not sold on him yet despite people think he was the next messiah because of our highest points tally(worth noting the bottom half had a lower points tally then in previous seasons

I still think he needs time but he seems to be stubborn and like last season his selections are baffling. Like Lennon today imo, Naughton played at LB, Chiriches at RB and Vetonghen at CB.

I think he is making slow steady progress but is it good enough.

Arsenal and Liverpool are in a false positon atm as they have a insanely hard 10 matches til january. As for United they have alot easier run in and expect them to back in the mix.

I find it strange we our not playing the way AVB tries to play before spurs and its strange because this has been the longest he has been at the club and I think its still a mish mash.

I think he needs to be strict on the attacking players because we seem to be carrying out planned creative moves and I think we need the players roam around more creating space to take apart the smaller teams

I think its unfair to say that it is all his fault, he has been helped and its still early to judge him. He will be judged at the end of the season

This is embarrassing. Every aspect of Tottenham is now being criticised from fans, every aspect. You would think we were in fucking relegation battle coming on here and not in top 4

Come on some of these replies are harsh. He has recognised we are getting results and where we are in the league and stated he isn't calling for him to go, just saying he doesn't like the football we play.

Not that bad, is it?

For.Fucks.Sake - we've won the 5 cup games we've played without conceding a goal, we're 3 points off top and there's still whining 'supporters' starting endless bitching threads. Yes, our home performances need to improve but we've improved beyond measure away from home and we are still integrating 7 new players.

A part of me is actually starting to miss the time when we were genuinely shit, as at least I didn't have to deal with the ridiculous sense of entitlement I'm now seeing from some of our fans - it's reflective of what's going on in society in general which also massively winds me up but that's another story....

OP makes some good points, fact is we rarely create decent chances. You have to credit AVB for the amount of points we've got under him but I'm not completely sold on him

Did it really deserve a new thread though? If this had been said as a comment inanother thread then I don't think it would have attracted any comment at all. I'm just getting bored or seeing the same unimaginative, negative threads being started.

A reason as to why we arent playing as beautiful football as we used to is the fact that teams are now afraid and defend like anything and parking the bus. A few yrs ago this wasnt the case, there was more room because teams wouldnt just try and defend against us and try and get only the point

This thread is really not needed. We're seriously not playing that badly.. the only fuck up in my eyes so far was not having any backup for Rose. Remember how lush we looked against Norwich?

Can anyone actually say the OP isn't far from the mark in some of what he is trying to suggest.

How many performances has there been that have been really convincing?? Good attacking play??

We aren't letting in goals which is always going to give you a lot better chance of winning games but we are pedestrian and predictable with the ball and not too difficult to fathom out, as big sam showed.

Last season we had Bale and this season we have had Soldado from the spot.

We are far from convincing and i find it fairly sad that someone cannot post things which are very evident, that every man and his dog is spouting during match threads on a regular basis.

We are sat in a nice position and hopefully things can only improve on the field in an attacking sense but lets not kid ourselves, we have been moaning about the lack of things in our play when in possession for a long time now.

I also do not buy into this bollocks about teams cumin and parking the bus, we bought players this window, really quality which i assume was to combat this type of tactic.

Currently we do not look that great going forward and seem so slow at moving the ball around the pitch, with the exception of some nice moves here and there, but nowhere near good enough.

I don't believe things are nearly as bad as some people suggest but i can see why some have some concerns.

Bit harsh on the OP
I don't think he is saying he wants AVB to go, he just does not like the football being played under him. Many would find it hard to disagree that our football is appalling.
However, any suggestion that AVB should go is quite frankly, beyond ridiculous.

The way I see it, is that we're 4th and looking pretty shit. Imo we can only improve, so I'm excited for the rest of the season. We have exciting players like Holtby, Lamela and Eriksen who all still need time to adjust to a new league and new teammates. I'm confident when we fully gel, we could be one of the best teams in the league.

I fully believe when those three start performing consistently we're going to start to see the best of Soldado as well
