Just look at that. Of course we need Pirlo. Midfield maestro.

Look at Davids, we signed him as a legend and with the greatest of respect to him he was bloody awful, he kicked lumps out of people yes but it was like playing with 10 men most time i saw him play

Did you watch the same Davids I did? Was an utterly vital part of the team that nearly got us 4th.

How was Davids awful? he was great in his first season for us and added steel to our midfield which desperately needed it.

Pirlo is still a wonderful player, he probably wants a new challenge as he's spent his career in Italy.

Totally agree. Of course he was past his prime but that first season his winning mentality was one of the main reasons for our climb from midtable also rans to top six contenders.

I would be pleasantly surprised if anything materialised with this but if there are any doubts watch him from this and last season as people state he aint fast but never relied on that. Best player for Italy against Spain at euros so says alot for him. You never lose class guys! Beard off would be good though eith sandro and lennon!

Talent is talent. His age isn't a concern because we wouldn't be looking to build out entire side around him. His vision and skill in the team, ermahgerd. We're an even younger team in the creative dept after this summer and a yr or two of having one truly klarsy mofo pulling the strings in the middle would do nobody any long-term harm. It would be a benefit in fact. His biggest value to us would be the hundreds of training sessions our midfielders would take with him.

I hope there's some truth to it.

You don't need to be physically fast when you're mentally quick and have the technique to do what you want with the ball, we are also lacking experience, you need a few old heads in the squad to really bring the best out of players IMO. He's been written so many times, I've lost count. A season swan-song could be amazing for all concerned and on a free it'd be mad to turn your nose up at such a talented, classy player. Yes please.

people get so obsessed with age and pace here, as if only young speed-merchants can thrive in the Premier League. it's daft. for the most part, the best players in this league aren't the fastest or the ones that run the most.

Pirlo absolutely ran the show against England in Euro 2012 last summer, which is as good an indication as any that he'd be able to play here. here's a little secret: players that good aren't bothered about the pace of the game, because they're mainly playing it at their own pace. if anything, it's English players whose game falls apart under pressure, hence why they can never seem to string 5 passes together at international level. it really gets my goat when I hear people talking about "having to adjust to the pace of the Premier League". yes there's more running here, but the quality players that come here from other leagues (Silva, Mata, Ozil etc) all manage to find space and be brilliant without much hassle.

I'd take Pirlo all day every day if there's a chance we could get him.

Very much doubt this would happen, but with Baldini you never know.

Would be very happy to see him play for Spurs until he decides to retire.

Not had a players name on my shirt since I was a teenager. Sign him and I couldn't resist.

I would pay £20m+ for him let alone getting him for free...

Anyone who says he would be a bad signing or not worth trying to sign knows nothing about football. He wins wherever he goes, be it for Milan, Juve or Italy. Why are Milan now floundering in mid table and Juve winning the league? Because they got rid of Pirlo and every Milan fan will say the same! He would be an epic signing!

He'll bring that winning mentality to our club.No offence to our players but I don't see anyone who has won as many trophies as he has specially the WORLD CUP.

Can't really see this happening plus he will be a bit too old
And not at his best imo of course.
